It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

I heard good things about this show, so was eager to give it a try. I prefer comedies and like the survival premise. It really did not come through. The central premise, that a commercial airliner could have an in-flight accident and not be found, is not plausible. I can get passed that. The show has a very cynical view of human nature. No one is likeable. No one has a survival strategy. The characters are two dimensional. Its as if each character is written to illustrate one personality flaw, with no back story or attributes. I've watched four episodes, but will probably give up soon.

The writing is impeccable, I'm serious, this is a comedy TV show but it has better writers than 100+ million dollar movies. Rewatch value is through the roof, because the depth of the script is so insane. The directing/acting is also impeccable, most of the actors aren't super famous and I can't imagine better acting from anyone else for their roles. Literally every single character nails their part. The directing/sound effects and music are all on point, you cannot ask for more than this.On top of that, it's actually funny and entertaining for every microsecond of every episode, as they all deliver, all of the time.Everybody who had/has a part to play in making this show has my utmost thanks, this is what 10/10 stars is.The pilot itself was a masterpiece for the short time frame they had to introduce most characters, while still being hilarious. The show grows on you even more over time, watch as many episodes as you can back to back for the best enjoyment, as there is a lot of depth that is forgotten about if you watch episodes too far apart.

I am going to add to the review I wrote last year just to say that I think series 2 is even funnier. This is to me is a classic. I must say the first episode had me crying with laughter. It is not supposed to be even remotely accurate, or plausible, and it is slightly dark but very very funny. Do not be put off by those who propose cell phones would or would not work under those conditions, this is an hysterically funny parody of Lord of the Flies. The funniest show since Veep. It can be silly at times but the pure wit of some of the lines and the absurdity of the situation makes it a must try if not an absolute must see. All the episodes so far have been a pure delight in comical entertainment and I enjoy the fact that there is a progression of the story from episode to episode. One scene, about 2/3 of the way through the first episode ranks to me as one of the funniest I have seen particularity in a pilot. I will not spoil that for you but if your sense of humour is anything like mine you know it when you come to it because you might have to wipe the tears of laughter from your eyes.
