The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I saw the episode when they were working for a funeral company and was absolutely disgusted by the lack of respect those girls showed to the body they were transporting and the way they were transferring the ashes from package to the next - they even used a vacuum cleaner to pick up some ones ashes.They obviously have never lost anywhere otherwise how could an even minutely decent human being be that disrespectful.Its the same for anyone who found that remotely funny.It goes without saying what a low opinion i hold of them they shouldn't be allowed to do that

I HATE this show all it is is two selfish prisses who think they're famous because they have rich parents!!!! This show has no plot those stupid idiots go out of the show the same way they started self-centered and dumb! The ONLY thing that changes is that after each season they are a little bit richer!!!!!!!!!!!! Now this year Nicole has cleaned up a little and even though I believe she's going to do another season she is trying to settle down and get married but I will NEVER be able to stand Paris Hilton. I don't think people should be wasting away their minds by watching this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as I'm concerned this show is a waste of airtime!!!!

Nearly every review of the Simple Life misses its essence -- its a staged show. ALL reality shows are in fact staged, with a script. The "reality" part is a bit of improv. allowance, and the illusion that its really happening.The Simple Life is just as staged as the Lucy show in that generation. Most of the jokes are already written. All the bits, even down to Nicole's purse getting stolen, are staged. If the girls did some of this stuff in real life, they know they would at least get a misdemeanor offense. Instead, a little town is signed up to play along with the jokes and pretend.The moral condemnation of Paris and Nicole, as spoiled rich girls with low IQs, is just what the producers want adults to think. Any kid with a brain knows they are just goofing off, and its no more real than the Three Stooges. Relax, folks, the stealing and lying and screw ups are all jokes.

I honestly can't see what is even vaguely entertaining about this show.Sure, I've tuned in out of the same morbid curiosity which causes you to stick your finger in an electric outlet once in your life. One has to wonder "just what IS this"; yet what compels one to continue watching? I really see nothing amusing here. Merely pathetic. There's no clever satire or scathing commentary. It's merely mental depravity and an attempt to make the poor feel superior. I doubt even these ditzes are quite as stupid as they portray themselves. Yet what stupidity is real and what is scripted becomes a moot point; it's stupidity without redemption.Crud like this is an indicator of how poor American society has become.
