What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

What begins as a feel-good-human-interest story turns into a mystery, then a tragedy, and ultimately an outrage.

A journeyman show, it's very much paint-by-numbers stuff, with nothing you haven't already seen in half-a-dozen similar narratives, as writers Normand Daneau and Geneviève Simard take no real risks. Having said that, however, it's a well made piece of television. Confidently directed by Peter Stebbings, the material may offer nothing revelatory, but what it does offer is enjoyable enough for its own sake. An excellent Peter Coyote dominates the narrative as Henry Sullivan, a retired judge with a strained relationship (to say the least) with his son, Luke (Aden Young). When his young grandson, Anthony, disappears, and the veneer of civility erodes, the fissures running through the family dynamic begin to erupt, with blame and recrimination becoming the central tenets of familial interaction. You may guess half-way through who the kidnapper is, and yes, they're one of those Hollywood type kidnappers who leave cryptic clues everywhere, but this remains a well made, if unadventurous, show.7/10

I am not sure what it is about this series that cannot connect on an emotional level even with a very heavy subject like child abduction. I watched two episodes and I can say the director tries hard with irrelevant flash backs and long drawn out scenes to bring depth and connect to the audience but fails miserably. I stopped watching before the end of 2nd episode as I could not bear more bad acting and fake outbursts of the leading actors. I am amazed it has gotten so many decent reviews!!! If you want a solid series and like the subject matter, you should see The Missing with Tchéky Karyo (French actor) as a fantastic leading actor who delivers and brings tremendous depth to the character and the plot

This would be a great show if the grandfather/judge could act, His acting reminds me of the episode of Friends where Phoebe tries to act. He ruins the show and his character is annoying as hell. Also find it a bit hard to believe there would be a full investigation team looking for a cat killer.

This mini series would be a nice adventure game. Clearly the writers are gamers, rç.I'm surprised they delivered a good and clever drama without the usual 1h+ tiring episodes.Brilliant acting.
