A Brilliant Conflict
... View Morea film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
... View MoreJust intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
... View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
... View MoreAfter watching the Police academy movies over the years (those were not masterpieces, either, on the contrary), I was rather curious if this series was worth watching and if the jokes were good or at least somewhat better then those on the big screen. Boy, was I disappointed! I've seen parts of two or three episodes of this series and all I can say is: painful, gruesome, as bad as it can be! If you don't expect a comedy, the script is actually acceptable. If you see the title and look forward to relaxing and laughing, AVOID WATCHING IT! The "jokes" and "funny scenes" are so bad, they make you cry! I think even a kindergarten kid would have to give his best effort to smile once. Even Police Academy: Mission to Moskow was, as hard as it is to believe, BETTER than this.5/10 as a series, 0/10 as a comedy series
... View MoreI think this show used to come out on Saturday afternoons on FOX. I never really found the show to be funny just interesting that some of the original cast members did some cameos. The jokes where rather lame. Not so much different from the jokes of the bad Police Academy movies, like parts 4 to 6.Actually the only reason this show had caught my attention was Christine Gonzales lining up for revelry in a bikini during the shows intro credits. But even that didn't catch my attention enough to continue watching the show.Having grown up watching all the previous Police Academy movies(all except the Moscow one) I liked the idea that the Police Academy franchise wasn't completely dead. So once I noticed that the show had been canceled I couldn't help but feel bad. This meant, Police Academy was truly dead. How sad. I just wonder what Christine Gonzales is doing now a days...
... View Moreand even less. The first movie of the series wasn't all that bad, but it was "Citizen Kane" compared to the turdballs that followed it. This thing's even worse. The only reason I watched it was because of Joe Flaherty from "SCTV," who I've always been a fan of. Guess this proves that nobody's perfect. I don't know how long this series lasted, but I didn't last past 15 minutes into the first episode. Absolutely painful. Yuk.
... View MoreI must say that this show is pretty bad. The creators probably meant well but it just isn't funny. You can't watch this show without first having seen the movies on which it was based. The only time the show becomes remotely funny is when one of the cadets or their instructors from the original academy makes a cameo. And that is why the funniest character on the show is Larvell Jones. It's nice to see that they at least kept him. But it's just not enough. One man can't make up for the flaws of the show. The jokes don't work too well, and the ensemble is mediocre. All in all, it's been done before and better, I might add, in the movies. Bring back Steve Guttenberg and make Police Academy 8. Anything is better than this!!
