Sadly Over-hyped

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

One Piece in my opinion is the worst anime I have watched in history of animes. It's not because the subbed is better then the dub (I never watch any anime that is subbed, I always watch it when its dubbed because of language reasons) and it's not because of the theme.It's because I find the characters very annoying especially because of Lufley and Tony Tony Chopper's voices. Luffy's voice is so unbearable that my ears hurt from listening to it and Tony Tony Chopper's voice sounds like if he/she is getting choked and it's just forced. But hey at least Happy from Fairy Tail sounded perfect.The whole show is just completely random in my opinion. I mean seriously clown doctors, a talking teddy bear, shark people, a Jamaican starfish and pirates. I guess if you want something pirate themed with random characters I guess I could recomand it. While you are at it you might as well chuck Spongebob, Mr Krabs, Squidward, Garry and Patrick Star into it.Now for the good: For a positive side of thing the animation is very good and the art style is very well maintained. I can see how graduly it has been improving as it went along. I also think the theme song for this is very good and I guess most of the voice acting (not Lufey or Tony Tony Chopper) is decent for the dub.If you like One Piece or if you want to watch it more power to you I am not going to judge or stop you. But honestly I can recommend something better like Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Dragon Ball (i am not a fan but still its better then this), One Punch Man, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, FLCL or even Seven Deadly Sins.Well I know my review will get a lot of hate for this but like with all my other reviews if you don't like it theres the No button just click it. It won't affect me at all.I know these reviews were 10 years ago or longer but the changes 4Kids made didn't bother. I have never seen that dub but I have seen images and videos on YouTube. I can understand them censoring smoking, blood and alcohol as it's not appropriate for a kids show. But the other things are stupid. There was also a reason why that company was called 4KIDS and not 4ADULTS. However, people had seem to have forgot that there is culture differences between Japan and USA/UK as it might be too much for that particular audience also rules and regulations would not be the same. People just love to whine and cry about nowadays. But I am not trying to defend 4Kids as it was there fault thinking that they could make an anime that is aimed at an older audience appeal to kids.

The story of Monkey D Luffy is simply very addictive. First of all it's not the same cliche of someone saving the world from something. It's the story of a pirate who want to travel around the world and be the best among pirates. In his journey he meets new people who becomes his nakama or comrades. His journey earns him and his crew many enemies including the govt. The anime is full of action adventure comedy drama and virtually everything. It's an all in one package for anime lovers. If you will take my word for it start watching now you'll not regret this.

Hey there ... I'm a fan of one piece ..I can say that I'm more than a fan like the story is an inspiration to me ... if you think it as just a cartoon with stupid characters and animation then I think you are wrong ... the Things to watch in this one is Story, emotions , attitudes, feelings, situational music etc etc... damn I think it's everything in this is superb!!! I already said my friends to watch one piece ... they say that " bro it's too long and so many episodes I can't " I replied " Idiot , who said you to watch all episodes ... just try to watch up to 30 " that's it the next he said yeah bro it's very good but too much sentiment ... I said plz watch other 5 or 10 episodes ... he then again met me after 3 days and I asked him " how many eps you watched " he replied " bro I'm in 170 episodes it's too damn awesome " and few days later he was in 400s .. recently I recommended the same to my cousin and he is also now watching and he completed 200 eps ... >>> All I wanna say is Try to watch just few eps <<< @VJ k Ruzus #AnimeLife (Fav character Roronoa Zoro) ... I had always wondered what this show was about since a little kid and one day i watched 3 episodes and immediately got addicted i always wanted to know what would happen next. If you're judging the show by its animation you shouldn't be, it has a wonderful and creative story which can get nearly anyone to keep watching. It has many creative settings and characters each with their own dreams and beliefs. The show starts to really get good after the water 7 arc. Some characters can be very goofy and the show's the pacing is very slow but that doesn't really matter since it has a very compelling and amazing story and attachable characters especially the main characters Overall i really recommend this show if you want something fun and interesting and if you do want to get into it. you will have to watch 5 a week day and 10 on weekends to catch up to where it is now..
