... View MoreI used to watch MMC when I was about six to seven years old and I loved it! Considering the time it was set in (the late eighties and early nineties) it was representative of all the teen/child oriented shows, but it was much more entertaining than others I could name (such as Kids Incorporated, which used to air just before). A lot of people roll their eyes at me when I stress that it was a good show, but it really was. And the good thing is, I do not recall seeing Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake once. EVER. They weren't the stars, because there were other, older, more talented kids doing their thing in the spotlight (including Keri Russell, Tony Lucca, and yes, JC Chasez). Great show, even if today it would look a little dated.
... View MoreI really did like this show now that I think about. Sometimes I wish they would play reruns of it. Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake were so cute! Britney and Christina were still friends! It was a really funny and cute show to me. I saw it as a marathon when NSYNC was famous and so it was cute to see Justing Timberlake and JC acting and stuff. But my I really liked Ryan Gosling. Still do, of course. The random skits make you laugh ... the music videos sort of strange ... and Britney Spears singing ... um ... yeah. The skits were great. I love the one drama I forgot what it was called ... liked "Emerald Cove" or whatever. That was hilarious, I think it was supposed to be dramatic, but you end up laughing anyways. But my favorite still is, and always will be by Ryan Gosling, "Aren't you just sick and tired of the word bogus?"
... View MoreI'm 38 and watched this show back when it aired. I even auditioned for it in 1991. I had to watch it at my friend's house because our family was too poor to have the Disney channel. I was 9 when it came out and watched it til it ended. I cannot explain how much this show means to me and the impact it had on my youth. My friends and I were OBSESSED. We learned all the songs and dances, and did little skits, performing for family, friends and neighbors. The show was funny and the talent the show had was AMAZING. It inspired me to be a singer. I luckily have all of the episodes recorded so the MMC is still a part of my life. Many celebrities came from the show such as: Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell and more. I feel a little special that I knew them before they became famous. I loved the whole cast in each season. I wish the show would come to dvd so I can get better quality videos but I am blessed to have the decent quality ones I had recorded. They should really make a reboot. This and Kids Inc were MY LIFE growing up.
... View MoreIn 1979 (1981 in the USA) "You Can't Do That On Television" came on to the air. It was the highest rated show on cable. In 1989, To rip-off "You Can't Do That On Television," and make another generation of viewers, Disney came up with "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" (a.k.a MMC).MMC is a mix of "You Can't Do That On Television" and the first episodes of "The Mickey Mouse Club" (the original series). This show contains everything you can need: music, and comedy. The sketches aren't really funny, and the music looks lip-synched most of the time. MMC can be enjoyable if you set your mind to it. If you don't, in plain English words, the show sucks. If you are a big fan of "You Can't Do That On Television," you we'll hate the show. Everybody else will just like MMC (such as Disney fans, and Mickey Mouse Club fans). This show is okay, but could of been better. My Grade: C+/B-
