Great Film overall

Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

What begins as a feel-good-human-interest story turns into a mystery, then a tragedy, and ultimately an outrage.

After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

This series of thirteen five minute shorts follows a group of girls as they set about producing their own manga. Each episode focuses on various aspects of production; both creative and commercial. Being so short there isn't time to give the characters great depth but they are entertaining enough in an amusingly moe way.This is one of those series that is fun enough while you watch it but is unlikely to be remembered for long… apart from its rather poor title; it may be a contraction of manga and girl but it suggests something else entirely! Given that the episodes are only five minutes long I'd recommend checking it out if you like anime and don't have time to watch a full length episode of something.These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
