Really Surprised!

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

I've been following this show since it started, and to be honest with you, this is not a show I would normally watch or recommend. However, I love the show and have been sucked into the drama! The only problem I have (besides it being slightly over the top) is all of the subtitles. My vision is not 100%, but I have prescription lenses, and even with them, the subtitles and text messages go way too fast. I can't count how many times I've had to pause and rewind to read them. Please slow them down!!! If y'all can do that, I'll give you 9 stars. I can't do 10, it's still cheesy, but I love it and it's sucks me in. I would just like to read what is going on when they aren't speaking English.

It's very entertaining and makes you laugh but I wish there was more depth and the narration in the show gets annoying from time to time but I am obsessed with the show and can't stop watching it. I would recommend it

I used to look forward to seeing this show but as of last year, it became very political and it annoyed me, so I stopped watching it.

This is not my first telenovela. 'Betty La Fea' took me by surprise, making me want to never miss an episode, transcribe the dialogue with my basic Spanish skills (difficult task!) and record as many episodes as possible on videotape (that's how old THAT telenovela is!)No other clumsy attempt to replicate the 'Betty' plots in other languages can match the original. It's just fantastic. Now, I'm as addicted to 'Jane the Virgin' (see how the title follows the template of 'Betty the Ugly One'?)This story is not meant to make serious sense. The characters are meant to carry the viewer along a journey of intrigue and sweet, sweet romance - which they do. This is the charm and strength of the telenovela. 'Jane' does this so well that I shed a few tears along the way. So many simple truths coming from the lips of the narrator, from Jane, from Michael, from everyone! I heard that the series was entertaining but then, a synopsis of the promise made me thing: uh, not for me. Wrong. It defies description. Only can be appreciated by watching - with a scorecard - and a flowchart - and an open heart!
