Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

I looked forward every week to watch Gracepoint. I'm sad that it ended. It was captivating, with intriguing characters who all seem kind guilty. This is an example of a well made mystery show that doesn't need to show body parts to get better rating. All the actors were incredible but especially David Tennant, the lead detective, who is both annoying and captivating. Also Kevin Rankin who played the priest. You just couldn't tell if he is a healer or a criminal. Gracepoint was shot in Victoria B.C., a beautiful coastal town. The only flaw was the end. They should have spent more time showing the sick side of the person who committed the crime. I hope they'll have more episodes in the future.

I just finished watching the last episode and my opinion did not change. The only thing I can say about this show is that it was LAAAAAME. They tried to do something mysterious but it was painfully SLOW. I could not take anymore of the SLOW MOTION scenes also. It was very annoying and also FOX with the hash tag #supecteveryone, kind of destroy the plot. Of course 'someone' did it, of course will be someone we "know"... duh!!!!! Also, the way that the killer was reveled was pathetic, no emotion, no suspense, just blargh... Every character in this show, from episode one had a diarrhea face, the whole time. It was the longest movie I ever watched. My three stars goes like this. One for photography (it was indeed beautiful), the other one for effort (they tried) and the third one for Anna Gunn. On the last scene when the boy is telling: "I never saw anybody else hitting him", I got the "anybody else" right the way, how come the so awesome detective did not caught that? How weak... anyways... try watching "Top of the Lake" and "Les Revenants" instead.

Gracepoint is the perfect 10 episode show. The locale is a craggy sea town with colorful characters and moody weather. The storyline moves somewhat slowly, but it's an enjoyable ride to take while you learn who killed Danny. Along the way you learn a little about each character who may, or may not, have done the deed. It's annoying that people compare it to Broadchurch. The show does what it's supposed to do - it entertains you. Each week I wait with anticipation for the next episode. That is the recipe for a successful television show - when the viewer is drawn back time and again. If Fox makes another 10 episode mystery in the fictional town of Gracepoint after this one is over with Detectives Gunn and Carver working to solve the case, I will be sitting in front of my TV again each week. Bravo Fox!

I have agonized, and will stubbornly continue to, through this mess of a show which features NO, I repeat, NO likable characters. Ellie (played disappointingly by Breaking bad alum Anna Gunn) is clearly not cut out to be a detective in any way shape or form. Her partner Carver, is as stale and out of touch with humanity as an old loaf of bread. He's like a manically depressed, less entertaining Sheldon Cooper sans the bazzinga. The deceased child's' parents behavior and acting skills change on a week to week basis for no reason at all. And just when you are starting to like and appreciate Nolte's Pseudo-pedophile whale watcher, just when the character is starting to get a hint of depth, of course, he offs himself. I don't know exactly where the story is heading, but the guilt is being spotlighted mostly in the hands of the priest (cliché'), the father's work assistant (angry, cliché'), and the detective's own young son. For those who haven't figured it out yet, the kid ran away and ditched his bike. Based on his behavior at the funeral, I'm sure of that. So, in all likelihood, the killer will be none of those characters and will actually end up being somebody stupid and ancillary like the grandma. (You heard it here first.) I'm preparing for an end of Lost kind of stupidity with this ending, and I'll be very surprised if the payoff exceeds my expectations. This is because the whole thing feels like a waste of time, and even though my OCD prevents me from simply tuning out, (I have too much time invested) I will slog my way through the last three hours, none-the-less, with barf bag in hand, waiting to be disappointed some more, and lamenting the hours wasted on this drivel, no better than any individual episode of Law and Order, just agonizingly longer.
