one of my absolute favorites!
... View MoreI was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
... View Morea film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
... View MoreA terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
... View MoreThis show is without a doubt, the most overly dramatized reality show I have ever seen.... Not to mention, it is downright UNREALISTIC...... I have been hunting and dealing with Ginseng for over 20 years, and NEVER, NOT ONCE have I EVER seen a dealer deal in green seng. It dries to less than a 1/4 of its green weight, so when they are talking about having 60 lbs of seng, they had to dig well over 250 lbs of green to get that weight..... Im sorry, but in a GREAT year, a single person will do GREAT to find 1 lb....It also pisses me off because TRASH TV like this is why us legit genseng diggers are having a harder and harder time.... THis kind of show makes every tom dick and harry think they can get rich digging ginseng, so they go out, OUT of season and dig IMMATURE plants, making it completely unable to sustain the harvest.... And SERIOUSLY, how much drama can there be in 2 guys roaming around in mud, digging for worms, or some people walking around the woods, hunting for shrooms..... BORING!!! Or the eel fisherman, who makes the exact same trip EVERY day, yet suddenly decides to hit a rock JUST when he happens to have a boat full of fishb (just for overdramatic effect).... OK... WHATEVER....Then you have the Burl Hunters, who make cutting a tree seem like the most difficult thing on EARTH. Oh, and lets not forget the alligator hunters (trying to keep up with Swamp Peoples ratings, im sure)... again, BORING.... i swear, the best thing about this show, is the eel fishermans hat..... ... this show is TRASH, COMPLETE BS.... UNREALISTIC and TERRIBLY overly dramaized. I have literally NEVER rolled my eyes so much at ANY TV show, EVER!! It is seriously PAINFULLY overdramatized.
... View MoreI like the idea of this "documentary", and the first episode of the first season was good, I thought they were going to introduce and show more this type of jobs in the US and/or in the world. But then it's the same over and over and over, becomes just yet another cheap production reality shows that Nat Geo and Discovery franchises keep on making these days. I gave it a 6, instead of an even lower rating, because the idea is very interesting and rather refreshing, but it would be better if they talk about the same people and type of jobs in few episodes then move on, instead of making another reality show for even more than one season. It's worth to watch for couple of episodes, but then it's the same repetitive reality show.
... View MoreI tuned into a new show on the National Geographic on Sunday Night called "Filthy Riches". The show is about certain jobs American people do to make money. It good to see the other side of people making a living off the land. The stories are about these people with amazing skills especially the worming guys in Maine. Jim and Andy shows us How hard work can pay your bills just digging for worms. The show also offers a good view of our beautiful country side of America. I am planning a trip to Maine to check out that beautiful area. Filthy Riches is on my TV every Sunday at 10:00pm. National Geographic Channel scores again to bring great stories to television.
