Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

I didn't like fresh off the boat, and this is actually worse. As much of a fan I am of Ken Jeong after binge watching Community multiple times, it wasn't enough to get me to sit through more than the first few episodes. The kid actors are horrible and unfortunately the casting people only had few Asian actors with American accents who would be willing to star in something with a script like this. I would give a 1/10 but being a fan of the lead role I felt like being nice

The show is mildly funny. I refuse to watch any further episodes due to the gay agenda. I watch light hearted comedies to be entertained, not to watch two men in a gay relationship. I don't need writers pushing their agenda down my throat with gays, politics, racism, religion, etc. I no longer watch Blackish for this very reason. I turned off Designing Women back in the 80's when the show started espousing women's issues, breast cancer, etc. After a hard day, I want to be entertained and laugh, and not have the writer's personal beliefs shoved down my throat in the guise of entertainment. Not that the station cares, however, entertainment should be just that.....entertainment.

I really don't understand why there are so many haters sabotaging this great show by giving such low ratings. Me(Chinese Canadian) and my bf(Croatian) we both love the show so much, judging by our backgrounds, this show is suitable for different kinds of crowds. Other than ken's brilliant performance of himself and his own life(You need to allow a great comedian to tell you something about his life before he can really jump out of the stereotype and pursue some "ridiculous" dream for doctors, isn't that inspiring?), all the supporting roles are super cute and fun too. Last but not the least, this show talks about all the realistic problems people encounter in life, roots in reality. Sharp tongue like ken is so much better than boring Max from 2 broke girls. I'm not an easy laugh but I always burst into it when I'm watching. Looking forward to seeing more episodes and seasons, Ken! Don't give up! We love your stories!

I am another fan of Ken but this is disappointing... I would have expected a stereotype Asian family but instead it's just another typical American family story that struggles to be funny.I admit I expected more from Ken but I can still see that he's trying hard... I'm a Korean myself. I would put a lot more that'll introduce Asian culture in it. Cuz I just see an American family that's Asian. The tension between Ken's parents' and parents' in law due to the Japanese occupation. or the fact that Koreans and Japanese are in a way conservative, hard working, drinking culture, patriarchal attitude, food conflict on what they should eat... Japanese? Korean? American? ... then it would help build a more actual like similar atmosphere of what a Korean and Japanese family would look like together. also what's with ken's parents' accent? his wife's parents' have a perfect American accent but Ken's parents have a weird not Korean, Japanese/ Chinese accent... anyway a little too late for that... But I hope it'll start settling down.
