One of my all time favorites.

... View MoreIt’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
... View MoreThe tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
... View MoreWhile the show is outdated to proper political language 6 years later from the last episode, the show portrays excellence in the difference of women and commonalities. Women here are shown empowering through all character types, showing that there is no clear definition of a "woman." Each "housewife" portrays what really makes an INDIVIDUAL happy, regardless of stereotypes. Some women like to stay are home, some women like to work, some men prefer to stay at home, while others work, and nothing is wrong with whatever option he/she chooses to make him/herself happy. It is a movement of feminism: aka equality. I especially appreciate the roles of each "housewife," showing that the stereotypical man and woman roles can be switched based on circumstances, and those stereotypes are still current social norms. The show is very progressive towards feminism: aka. equality. It is empowering and most importantly HILARIOUS. Watch!
... View MoreThe title for the series "Desperate Housewives" was misleading when it was released for the first time in 2004, obviously, because you get the immediate feeling that the show is targeted at the female audience, however, the show not only includes female characters, it also includes male characters too, surprisingly enough. In my opinion as a male, Desperate Housewives, is brilliant! Susan, Bree, Lynette, Gabrielle and Edie, are 5 very different woman/characters, who all live on the same street in Fairview. You are introduced to each character properly so that you can get a good idea of what each woman is like and how they act. From the outside, you would think their lives are perfect. They all have huge houses, manicured lawns, high fashioned clothes and expensive cars, but what makes Desperate Housewives so interesting to me, is that you get to follow these woman through their imperfect lives. The series, at first, focuses on these characters, however, it doesn't take long for the other characters to be put under the microscope. Desperate Housewives includes nearly all life themes and problems that nearly every person watching it has experienced in their life. It has characters most of us can relate to. It has moments that require really good acting and my god... can the actors and actresses pull them off well! After watching the series more than once, I have noticed that the episodes start off with the theme of what the episode is all about, which could be money, loss, grief, betrayal and so on, then the title sequence with all the famous paintings portraying domesticity and interactions between men and woman since early mankind, then the episode starts off with a rather light atmosphere and then by the end, it has quite a sad and reflective atmosphere. I think this is done deliberately because life isn't always easy and all of us human beings are trying to live our lives as best we can but we all learn our biggest lessons from the mistakes we make. Desperate Housewives is original, clever, sometimes smug and offers really good socially awkward moments and really emotional sad moments. I think this series should be more appreciated. It definitely offered something new and different. I'm just gutted it ended.
... View MoreAfter never watching the show when it played on TV I finally purchased all the seasons in Google Play and after finally finishing all the episodes I have to say that I really enjoyed watching this show and there was never a moment when I got bored. This show takes place on the street called Wisteria Lane and follows the lives of the four main characters Bree, Susan, Lynette & Gabrielle. This show is filled with lots of drama and mysteries. Every one of the actors/actresses that have come on the show have played their role very well. The series final had a very good ending and included most of the characters that have been in the show throughout the 8 seasons.
... View MoreOne of the most touching scenes on DH was Mike's funeral. I can find the scenes of it on YouTube. Vanessa Williams is singing "Amazing Grace". So far, it is "bookmarked" on my iPhone. However, I can't find the song on iTunes. I would love to have her version! Can anybody help? Is there a way it can be petitioned to be released? I think I'll look to see if reruns of DH are Netflix, Hulu Plus or even Amazon Prime. I haven't found it in reruns on cable in a few years. Part of the reason I would love to see it again is due to the post of what is your favorite episodes/scenes. Another shows I enjoyed watching again in reruns was Ugly Betty and Medium. Scrubs is also a good, fun show to watch.
