Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

... View Morewhat a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
... View MoreOf. All. Time. I never get sick of rewatching episodes and I don't usually ever watch anything more than once.
... View MoreWhat a smart, snappy show. Every season I think it cannot get cleverer with it's inventively cutting dialogue, and every season it outdoes itself. These characters are devoid of morals, yet somehow are not devoid of heart. I don't know why I want to root for them, but I do. Hats off to the writing staff, I salute thee.
... View MoreI enjoyed The Westwing and The Newsroom. So I gave Veep a chance. And boy, was I disappointed. Extremely unlikable characters and lame jokes. I don't know what to say, it's just not funny. It's like a few deplorables from Texas decided to write a script. It's full of swearing and profanity and while I normally don't necessarily dislike profanity in series or films per se, in this case I do. Because it does nothing to the plot, nothing to the scenery, nothing to the feel. It's just showing some assholes being assholes. I don't know, maybe the writers thought that this is funny, but it's just annoying. It seems like some 14 year old teenagers teamed up with their grandparents, who just love to sing the old Dixie-song, to write the scripts to this series.I ended up hating Selina Meyers and her whole team. Why should I watch a series full of losers and pricks? It's lame and immature and at no point, never ever, does it reach the class of The Westwing and The Newsroom. This is just garbage. Dumb entertainment for dumb people.
... View MoreThis show really delivers the goods. If everyone in it acted at a mediocre standard, Julia's absolute ease and confidence with her character would have rescued it I think, but, as is often when you put a bunch or artists together and something just clicks, whether it be a band or a cast, everybody here sizzles in their roles. (Personally I believe it is a light-hearted spirit that creates that magic, which might even be more realistic in a wacky comedy, though I'm just guessing.)The writing too, the dialogue, the timing. I've become hard to please over the years, but this show nails it.I'm not always crazy about Julia's character. It goes a tad too far past the edge for me sometimes. Maybe I'm slightly out of the intended demographic, but there's no arguing the creative gem here.
