Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

My opinion/perspective is coming from being an aficionado of this genre, hence, this series rates as juvie, not fully baked. Its problems are in plausibility which is essential to hit the mark with a spy show. The cast is decent enough but their acting (and/or their direction) shows immaturity and that just spoils it. I endured through the fourth episode at which point I had enough, that episode was most egregious regarding plausibility and I was just taken out of the story. I really wanted to like this, I was biased to like it, but it just doesn't cut it. But for those new to the genre it might be alright, you'll be more forgiving till you've seen enough of them

It is both repetitive, annoying with the time jumps, full of actors that play parts with UK/US accents not native to them..(Ep 3 the Blonde US operative fumes: Wrawth, when US should say wraaath) And the type casting! The blonde is an Ivanka knock-off, and so on.... BUT-- it is spot on for what it is-- a convoluted plotline- who's the good-guy, and who would you follow? Generally convincing that it's a nasty viper's net with guns. EPIX has only the first 3 episodes, so far-- I'm entertained enough, but it better get a larger overall plot, or I'll quit. It is busy being one of those Matryoshka dolls, nested one inside the other.and jumping timelines forward and back, unnecessarily.(Soon I expect to go to Kindergarten with Harry!)

Edit: I Learned a new acting style from this show!!! It is the "Whisper/Pause" style of acting where to make the drivel sound 'important' and have gravamen they BOTH whisper AND 'pause' after every word! Here is a verbatim transcript from the last episode to illustrate this new acting style: "I. Am. A. Dolt. Reading. This. Silly. Convoluted. Script. But. To. Sound. Important. The. Writer. Had. Me. Whisper. And. Then. Pause. After. Every. Word. In. This. Script."!Watched a few episodes and finally realized (it took a while) this was just a reheated Tinseltown trope about evil efforts to stop and frustrate stopping the world from destruction with an (infamous) "Iran deal" to save the world. The bad guys want to stop this saving the world effort.Hey, BBC Hollywood does this much better. They should open today's newspaper.
