Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I viewed this show I believe in year 5 or year 6 at that point I was infatuated with Buffy the vampire slayer (and i still am)So at first I thought this show was like Buffy it was grown up and not silly but it was it was based on a high school jock who becomes a werewolf and becomes friends with the school nerd his older brother is a slob who actually comes in good use.I watched the whole of 1st season bits of 2nd season and couple of episodes of the 3rd season.I loved Merton his references to Buffy the vampire slayer the episode with the vampires (i think it was fangs for the memories.

After working on "Sweet Valley High" and "Breaker High", I suppose "Werewolf High" seemed like the next logical step for writers Peter Knight and Chris Briggs ...Tommy Dawkins (Brandon Quinn) is your typical high school jock -- popular, dumb and care-free ... that is, until he is out camping one night and is bitten by a werewolf. Thanks to his infliction he is forced to befriend nerdy goth outcast Merton J Dingle (Danny Smith), and together they work to conceal his lycanthropy and battle whatever evil forces set sights on the town of Pleasantville. As awkward as teenage years always are, Tommy finds that it is even more so when you're a werewolf -- especially since he wolfs out every time he gets close to Stacey Hanson (Rachelle Lefevre), the girl of his dreams. Later, Stacey is transfered to another school and Tommy sets his sights on the new girl, kick-boxing Buffy-wannabe Lori Baxter (Aimée Castle).I caught a couple of episodes of this series when it was on, and it seemed like a pretty silly show that was aimed primarily at the teenybopper crowd. I was attracted to it at the time because obviously it featured werewolves and also it had strong similarities to Buffy, which I enjoyed. In the end I was put off by the silly WWF-style fight scenes, and the slapstick humour didn't really appeal to me all that much. However, when I watched the episodes back-to-back recently I began to really enjoy it. Many of the jokes are silly, but I'll admit it does manage to make me chuckle quite frequently. The constant movie references score particularly highly with me. The characters themselves are quite amusing ... Tommy really is an idiot, and Danny Smith who plays Merton J Dingle has become a kind of cult icon. Together the two of them form an interesting comic team.It turns out there actually is an awful lot to enjoy here, especially if you happen to catch the series on a good day. At it's worst the show is like a kid's version of Buffy without the same level of atmosphere or wit (although it does seem to be conscious of this, throwing in direct references to the show). One problem is that the comic actors and guest stars often aren't particularly restrained, they're out there in full-on "I will make you laugh" mode which can come off more annoying than amusing. But hell, there are certainly worse things you could be watching. If you're looking for an interesting, dark and brilliant werewolf series, check out Frank Lupo's Werewolf. But if you're just after an entertaining, amusing and diverting version of "Teen Wolf", then this is the best there is.

Any little thing I pick out of this show could be a good reason to watch a show, but all together, this show is AMAZING. Danny Smith often steals the scene with a few rather clever one liners ( Ex. "Nerds have laboratories. I have a lair. Ergo, I am not a nerd. Please forget my use of the word Ergo."). Brandon Quinn is quite good as the title character (But, as said before, Merton steals the show, and has a MUCH larger fan base, myself included... I'd date him!) The show might be considered a running "coming-of-age" story, but with a twist... Tommy Dawkins has already "come of age", but now he's trying to come to grips with being a werewolf, something I'm sure he thought didn't even exist. So, to help him out, who can he turn to? Well, the eternal little science-fiction freak misfit, of course!I enjoy every episode of this show (I could name a few, but why be peckish, I love it all!), and was actually quite depressed at the most recent episode, the clip show... Could this be the end? I hope not! This seems to me to be the last good "whole-family" type show on television... If you have a channel that Big Wolf is syndicated on, I suggest watching the NEXT episode, and see if you aren't instantly hooked. Ten out of Ten (100 %!)

Dude, I love this show. We watch it all the time. It keeps getting funnier every time you see an episode. It's fun how sometimes the same actors play two different characters in two different episodes. (Alister Black...) Plus, Merton is that funny. The combination of Merton and Tommy is awesome, no matter what type of villian they are fighting. If you haven't seen this show and you have the chance to, seriously, see it. It's really funny. I hope you'll enjoy it. I know I do.
