I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

I know this is late to be reviewing this series, especially since we are nearing the end of the 4th & final season, but, I just discovered this show about 6 days ago while surfing through Netflix. I have only watched 13 shows of season 1 but I can say that I am really enjoying the characters and the plot. My wife & I really like a show that has a good romance angle, and though it may seem complex for Cat & Vincent to others, to us, up to this point, it seems to be one that is simple (in a somewhat exasperating way), believable and right. So far it is a great show! I put it on par with 2 other shows that we really have enjoyed and that is CHUCK, and WHITE COLLAR. BEAUTY has less comedy and is a little more dark in tone but still has the romance which to us is endearing, along with the police drama. Hope the rest is as good and wish it was continuing.

I was all excited about this series when it debuted, but the story has gotten progressively pathetic to the point that I'm done with it. In this day and age, with Cat being a kick butt cop who can take such good care of herself and others, how did they write her to be such a weak little doormat girlfriend? First there's Alex, Vincent waffles between Cat and his old fiancé, while Cat waits sweetly on the sidelines and jumps back together with him as soon as the other option closes for him. He didn't even choose her! Then he's all trying to distance himself for her safety and she's just following him around like a puppy dog begging to be together and protecting him however she can through her job. Then next season she catches him kissing some chick and she doesn't even confront him on it? Really?? She says their fight isn't about them its more about her father? I'm sorry, but if I catch my boyfriend returning a kiss some girl is giving him, the fight is sure as heck going to be about that! They're making Cat out to be either some pathetic passivist who is afraid to call her boyfriend out on some really unacceptable behavior or a total idiot who doesn't realize her boyfriend is a non-committal jerk. This show should be called "Doormat and the Beast". They need to fire these writers. How is it this "beastly" boyfriend seems to constantly have a string of ladies throwing themselves at him? "Beauty" there doesn't even have as impressive of a line of suitors. You would expect the possibility of a love triangle in a show called Beauty and the Beast...but on the side of the Beast? With Beauty being the ever devoted protector waiting in the wings?? "Majar Fail" does not even begin to sum up this show.

A young police detective played by Kristin Kreuk, falls in love with a former United States soldier who is on the run from a secret government agency that turned him into a beast. I won't deny that the description of this show sounds terribly cheesy. Don't let that turn you away from what is actually a pretty good series!Beauty and the Beast is an interesting interpretation of the traditional story of Beauty and the Beast. Based on the 1987 CBS series by the same name, Beauty and the Beast combines science fiction, government conspiracy dramas, and mainstream police drama to make a series that is dramatic, romantic, and often funny. While this series is entertaining, it is often repetitive. Throughout each season, we watch very similar stories, only with different foes to fight.
