The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

I respect Russian war movies as the action is so different from the endlessly regurgitated over the top Nazi slaughterfest cartoon clones that the Hollywood propaganda machine has churned out in the last 50 years.Russian movies are gritty & patriotic, the Russian & Germans go mano a mano like two punch drunk fighters...that being said the White Tiger falls flat . The Tiger tank seemed like a big dumb dog when it should have been rabidly pulling on the chain. That has to do with the wooden acting and poor theatrics of the German ghost panzer that lumbered like an old farm dog when it should have been lunging like a junkyard dog.The movie lacked ambiance in the summer sun when claustrophobia winter fog or whiteout conditions was needed. The crews spend more time out of the tank than in,like a Shark movie with beachcombers never getting in the water. The white winter camouflaged Tiger versus the green camo T-34 tanks while lollygagging around the leafy bush seemed rather silly. The sense of fear nonexistent, the Tiger a nuisance . The Russian troops should have been stampeding to the rear but instead they jokingly lounge around under the summer sun. Also the story line switched gears at the halfway point that was so confusingly pointless... I believe the lack of a suspense boxed the directer into ending the lackluster story arch prematurely .

The Movie starts with a mystery and keeps attention of the user till the end.. however as the things turns towards the end it leaves spectators with a very deep feeling about a Powerful Message. Also scenes and talks shown at the end which every one knows however never dares to speak in Public. Loved the creativity , Loved the message and Overall presentations and scenes are also good and acceptable.

The surrealist scenes are very becoming of Russian cinema, the symbolism used is refreshing, compared to the American gratuitous violence and corny love scenes. While the movie is propagandist, it is subtle at that, and its message can be considered one of strength, Russia's glorious past and its legacy as Germany's watchdog. The message is even more true today, with Germany's economic blackmail of the EU countries and its blatant favoritism inside the EU(EU is funding mainly German companies, instead of poorer new East European members, Germany is also dictating the immigration policies of other countries, and so on).

Now to start off with, if you are planning on watching this film expecting another typical war movie, then you might be disappointed! This surreal Russian film is more about courage and mental torture of war, with battle scenes taking a back seat. For that reason I really liked it. The story kept me captivated and the characters were interesting enough to invest my time in. When the tank battles do take place, I thought they were superbly done, with the mysterious "White Tiger" having a scary and almost indestructible sense about it. Now one can dismiss this powerful German tank as just that, or you can look deeper and see what it stands for. The director has created a very multi-layered film that will make the deep thinker feel as though he or she has had a good work out.Not for everyone, but in a world of movies that lack creativity and originality, White Tiger comes highly recommended!
