A narcissistic TV weatherman, along with his attractive-but-distant producer, and his mawkish cameraman, is sent to report on Groundhog Day in the small town of Punxsutawney, where he finds himself repeating the same day over and over.

It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

.Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

A weatherman finds himself inexplicably living the same day over and over again. Groundhog Day has a very interesting story but unfortunately with Bill Murray in it it's just not as good as it could have been and sure i like Murray in some movies like Ghostbusters for example but most of the time his mouth talks more than it should and this movie suffers from that. If Harold Ramis had used someone like let's say? Michael Keaton who he worked with him later on Multiplicity (1996) the movie would have been so but so much better and even more dramatic. (5/10)

It is fascinating to watch a film with massive fame running before itself. Usually because you get the sense that your opinion on the film is of great importance, due to how people would view you afterwards. For a critic, this dilemma is routine. With this in mind, I am happy to announce that Groundhog Day somehow managed to not only fulfil my expectations, but also exceed them greatly. It is impressive how far a good script can carry a film. Although it is not the only thing worth crediting, I will not hesitate to say that the screenplay is the strongest asset this film has at its disposal. The film wields its characters and idyllic Pennsylvanian town with great strength and confidence, which it certainly should be. And the central concept of a day forever repeating itself works much better than I could ever have anticipated. It takes a mind to create an idea, but it takes a great mind to carry it to the finish line. And that is exactly what Danny Rubin and Harold Ramis did with this film. Well deserving of being credited a modern classic.

Groundhog Day stars many great actors, the most notable of them being Bill Murray. Playing Phil, a sarcastic and selfish weatherman, Murray brings multiple elements of humor to the movie. Phil finds himself stuck in the same day, Groundhog Day, and he has to relive it until he 'gets it right'. The setting is in Punxsutawney, a small town in Pennsylvania. The movie itself is a clever rom-com with a moral, and I applaud Harold Ramis along with the writers. The dialogue was hilarious, and the story was able to keep its more meaningful elements while still being funny. I'd love to watch it again, and I think it's better then most modern romantic comedies. 8/10

Its been over 25 years and some change since I seen this masterpiece of a movie I cant believe it. So many movies have copied this repeat of 1 day but nothing like the original. I love the movies of the 80's and 90's the supporting actors were just as good as the Lead actors! Or just excellent casting directors!
