Wayne Gretzky is a vampire who can't grow his teeth. His impotence began when he inadvertently killed Mary Lipinsky, the love of his life, 300 years ago. To take his mind off the pain, he teaches college history - who better? Attempting to regain his full power, he enlists help from his friend and colleague, Dr. Levine. Nothing works until a new semester brings freshman Chris Keller. She's a dead ringer for Mary and they have a lurid affair, while rumors fly around the campus. But it all sours when he turns Chris into a vampire and her newfound bloodlust spins out of control in a bloody rampage, making the rumors a little too real.

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

I apologize. I liked a dumb 2 star film like a 4 star production. Wayne Gretzky (Adam Johnson) is a vampire who accidentally killed Mary (Julie Gonzalo) the love of his life in 1711. For 300 years his fangs have become limp as he feeds off animal blood and confides his troubles to Dr. Arthur Levine (Gary Cole). Dr. G known as "The Great One" is a history professor who teaches history as if he was there...and he was.As it turns out Mary didn't die, she just became Amish. Her daughter, who could pass for her twin (also played by Julie Gonzalo) , seduces Dr. G. leading to a vampire creating and killing free for all.The humor was pun filled, something I could sink my teeth into. Adam Johnson came across like a cross between Paul Giamatti and Zack Garifalakis. The one classroom scene of an excited student was reminiscent of one in "Back to School" however Tom (Matt Mattson) made me laugh. He is a member of the STD fraternity and vampire blogger.Parental Guide: No f-bombs, sex or nudity. Implied sex. Bleeped out F-bomb. Implied nudity from the back.

This movie is really boring and bad. I stopped watching after 20 min because the acting was bad and the storyline. I love vampire movies or series but this one really sucked. When the movie started i already thought wtf is this. But okay i do like Alexis Knapp and i guess that's why i downloaded it. (I'm sorry for the bad English i think there are some faults in the grammar lol) If you want to see the movie i say give it a shot but i didn't liked it. My opinion. This is a really cliché movie and i know that and i didn't even saw the whole movie. I don't know what you guys think of it but i say that you don't have to spend your time on this.

When I came across this movie on here with a 4.0 rating I thought it was going to be pure trash, but after reading the review by Ed_Blackadder I became very interested and decided it was worth a go. Was it...?It was! Very much so. This movie is AWEsome! TONS of full-bodied laughs and that Matt Mattson is soOoOo dreamy! No, but seriously, I'm looking forward to checking out some of these actors' other works if I can find them.In conclusion: Solid movie all the way through. A couple of parts are iffy but easily forgivable. I'm confident you will not regret giving this film the time of day.

Well, this wasn't no Bram Stoker's "Dracula", nor was it (luckily) not a Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" either. This movie was sort of a light-hearted romantic comedy with just a hint of horror, oh, and with vampires. The story is about a college professor named Wayne Gretzky (played by Adam Johnson) who becomes enthralled with the new student to his class Chris Keller (played by Julie Gonzalo). They start to have a relationship, but it turns out that they have more in common than just a mutual attraction. And the fact that Wayne is a vampire also does tend to prove somewhat of an issue in matters of the heart.I will say that the storyline was fairly straight forward, however, it wasn't particularly an impressive or overly interesting storyline. And what kept the movie afloat was the use of comedy throughout the movie. Mind you, it is not the kind of comedy that will have you laughing hard and in tears, but it is the kind that worked well enough and was just subtle enough to peak its funny head.It should be noted, however, that the people hired for the various roles and characters were actually doing good jobs with the roles and characters that they were given. It was just the script that proved somewhat of a ball and chain around their ankles. In overall, then "Vamp U" is a movie that is intended for a young teenage girl audience, and it doesn't really offer much for others in the audience, as this movie is a no brainer from start to end.Could have been more, but it catered to a teenage girl audience.
