Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Oren Uziel has confused F-bombs for dialog. Admittedly, some of the actors may have been allowed to ad-lib profanity here and there, but it all quickly added up to the point where that's all we heard. No one I know talks like this and I live in Los Angeles!Loved the premise. Usually like zombie/vampire/alien movies, but this was tooooo much to put up with. Turned it off after 15 minutes.

So much potential was wasted on a mediocre execution. Freaks of Nature could have, should have and would have been a really fun romp with the genre and despite the pace of the film being set to go for most of the running time, lazy editing and shortcuts in the writing leave me a little than more underwhelmed. Zombies, Vampires and Humans coexists in the small down of Dillford. The zombies have shock collars on them if they try to eat humans and are given janitorial type jobs. Vampires and humans hate each other, but put their differences aside to live their lives. When the arrival of aliens throws everything out the window in a royal rumble of sorts between the three different "species", it's up to three teenagers, one vampire, one zombie and one human, to get the town's life back to "normal".What a wild and interesting premise. Backed up by a comedic supporting cast including Denis Leary, Bob Odenkirk, Joan Cusack, Patton Oswalt and Keegan-Michael Key in small but decent roles, Freaks of Nature seemed destined to be a cult comedy hit. Yet the sporadic writing and uneven editing end of hurting it. Some of the jokes hit, some misfire completely and the film never really reaches the absurdity of the premise. Strong performances from the three leads was surprising and fuel the film with funny gore effects. Vampires literally explode gallons of blood everywhere once they are staked. One character is eaten alive and never manages to "die" or pass out from the carnage, he comments on why he is still alive as the zombies eat his guts, or put his guts back to eat another part of his body. These little funny moments are few and far between. I'm not sure if I enjoyed A Scout's Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse more or not, but both of those films feel similar in humour and structure. Freaks is nowhere near as smart of funny as it thinks it is. Stronger writing and a more keen sense of direction could have elevated this film into that cult status that it desperately wants to be part of. I'm a little disappointed it took the lazy route.It also doesn't live up to that awesome poster.

There are NO spoilers in my review.This is my first ever review on IMDb which I'm doing because I enjoyed Freaks of Nature so much and I can't believe this movie is rated so low.The only thing negative thing I could say is that the pace did slow down in the middle but it picks up again and I think it needed that slower (read less action) middle for character exposition which gives the movie more heart and left me feeling good rather than just being a completely action filled type of movie with less emotion and soul. I used to like horror but I grew out of it and am not a fan of torture porn horrors - I like gore but only if it's done in a cheesy way in a movie where it is over the top and meant to be funny.It's like that in this film (not extremely excessive but fairly gory) and adding the aliens made the story, action and humor even better. There isn't much 'scary' horror in this.If you liked Evil Dead 2 and 3, Buffy, Angel, Evil Aliens, Beyond Re-Animator etc then you might like this movie too.

"Freaks of Nature" is a comedy/horror movie that actually works for a change! It takes place in Dillford, Anywhere, USA, where humans, vampires, and zombies live side-by-side and actually get along, that is, until some aliens decide to pay them a visit. With each "clan" pointing the fingers at each other and reading some sort of sell-out plan to the aliens, soon everybody is fighting everybody all over again.Dag (wonderfully played by Nicholas Braun) is a high school virgin who is cocksure the luscious Lorelei, who keeps visiting him, will be the girl to end his virginity. Trouble is, Lorelei only "visits" because she keeps her dope at his house. Petra (also wonderfully played by Mackenzie Davis) is a hopeless and hapless girl who has had to carry an out-and-out lie about her character since she was 10. She unfortunately falls for the lines of a lascivious vampire who, once he turns her, stops taking her phone calls. Ned (superbly played by Josh Fadem) is a brainiac who wants to keep his straight A school record in tact so he can get a scholarship to an Ivy League school. When he feels he has nothing to live for, he decides to become a zombie. His slow transformation is a scream! Little do they know their town's future will depend solely on each one of them.I have read some other comments about this movie that were not too nice. I think they simply missed the point of this movie. Yes, the plot was a little all over the place, but that did not bother me at all. Everyone in this film looked as if they were having a blast, so, that made it fun for me as well. This movie is rated "R" and was a whole lot of fun. It never takes itself seriously, so why should we? Just enjoy!
