Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

It was a ok movie. Dax was very very very annoying and I rolled my eyes everytime he opened his mouth. Didnt care that much seeing shaq's butt and yelled GOOD GOD when I saw that. Uncle Drew was very interesting character but I rarely laughed during this movie and I think 1 time sitting through this is enough for me.

A convoluted backstory leads to short chubby Dax recruiting old Uncle Drew and his team of fellow geriatric players to take part in a basketball tournament. This film ticks the following boxes - "sport", "comedy", "black". It also ticks the box "annoying noisy principal characters." And, for anyone who has seen Karate Kid, Rocky, or any other film featuring underdogs in a sporting scenario, it contains no surprises whatsoever. But it's always heartwarming to see the underdogs battling against the odds - in this case an annoying but funny Nick Kroll. It does feature some well known basketball players under prosthetics and wigs as the retired players. None of them can act to save their lives but, at that, they give better performance than a number of the non-sporting performers. Lil Rel Howery as Dax heads the list here with a performance of extreme annoyingness.

I went to see this film expecting a silly comedy about old men being good at basketball and instead got a movie equal parts heart and comedy. Nick Kroll is hillarious in this film. The movie hit all the right notes and made for a very enjoyable viewing experience. I only went to see it because I have a movie pass and my step son wanted to see it, but i'm very glad I went because it really is a great movie that will leave you both laughing and feeling great. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take so give this movie a shot.
