It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

I'm quite possibly a huge fan of Gerry Anderson's stuff. Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlett, Stingray, even his lesser known shows (well except The Secret Service, I thought that was naff but still), you name it, I enjoy it.So how dare they even make a film about the Thunderbirds.... even though they're hardly in the chuffing film to begin with! Instead all we get are some silly and quite frankly stupid shenanigans involving a sadly annoying Alan Tracy running around Tracy Island trying to save the Tracy family from an incredibly over-acting Ben Kingsley as The Hood.Too bad then, that he gets trapped by a tidal wave of terrible dialogue, unfunny moments that would make even the Spy Kids cringe with envy and most importantly a complete lack of respect to the original source material.Even Hans Zimmer's score is nowhere near the excellence of Barry Gray. When even your creator calls it the biggest pile of crap he's ever watched you know your film is completely doomed...

Extract from Gerry Anderson's interview at BBC in 2008 : http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7655589.stmReporter : You were reportedly unhappy with the Thunderbirds film that was released in 2004. How do you feel about it now?Gerry Anderson : I was bitterly upset about that because I had been invited by the producer to discuss the possibility of acting as a consultant. But a few days later I had a letter saying: "I'm terribly sorry but we've got enough creative people on the payroll so we can't offer you anything." Four weeks before the premiere I got a call from Universal Pictures saying they would pay me $750,000 (£432,000) for me to attend and I turned it down. I could've done with that, but I couldn't bring myself to accept it and make false reports about it. I didn't go to see it, but about three months after somebody gave me a DVD and I watched it on my own. I thought it was disgraceful that such a huge amount of money was spent with people who had no idea what Thunderbirds was about and what made it tick.

The only time this turkey should be served up is at about 3AM on the day after Thanksgiving or 3am on Boxing Day when everyone is sleeping off their dinners. The characters in this movie are more plastic than the puppets in the original series, despite the actors best efforts.Unfortunately Jonathan Frakes not only missed the boat on this one, he missed the whole fracking ocean! His purported quote about never directing should be quite true, but given the bean counters in charge of the movie industry these days, you never can tell. However he cannot be entirely blamed for this abomination. I had the impression that a bunch of blind, one armed chimps put together the script form the shredded rejects from The Spy Kids franchise.Avoid at all costs.

Why a 4.0/10? Hey? What's the point on seeing you guys realise that such a sturdy teen movie mixed with wacky special effects would make up a film that you HAD TO HATE!?! I'm getting sick and tired from the back teeth of all your bad reviews, why can't you just show some respect?! Gerry Anderson brought these mighty puppets to live back in the 60's and Star Trek Executive 'Jonathan Frakes' was eager to turn it into a menacing family film with a lot of friendly and general actors (Sure Anthony Edwards is annoying, And they had Americans in London). I Think it's about time i dealt with your film dialogue and my innocence because i'm getting so fed-up of this, i'm LEAVING this site! This is my final review EVER!! (BTW, That Bingo Thing was to prove how cross i was)Oh Yes, and there is NO bad language because i promised myself ^^SEE YOU IN HELL!!!
