The Tunnel Trailers

In 2007, in the midst of the drought and water shortages, the NSW State government has unveiled plans to tap into and recycle millions of litres of water trapped in a network of abandoned train tunnels just beneath the heart of Sydney. However the government suddenly goes cold on the plan and it is not made public why. There is talk of homeless people who use the tunnel as shelter going missing, even though the government states that there are no homeless people in there. This, and the silence from the officials and ministers, leads a journalist, Natasha to begin an investigation into a government cover-up. She and her crew Pete (Producer), Steve (Cameraman) and Tangles (Sound Technichian) decide to investigate the story in the tunnel.

Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

Once upon a time, horror films featured castles, period dress, and exotic scenery. In this age of manufactured austerity they appear instead to entail small groups of people walking around in the dark screaming occasionally. Just as a big budget does not guarantee a good film, neither does a small one guarantee rubbish. The 2015 film "The Hoarder" was basically a group of people walking around in a storage facility, and that was by no means an inferior offering. Sadly, this one is. Set in Sydney, Australia of all places, a small group of journalists decide to investigate the tunnels under the main railway station. This is due to a recent announcement by the government of the day. There is a suspicion that homeless people might be living in them, so if these tunnels are used to augment the water supply, there will be a few drowned down and outs turning up, not to mention a scandal. So off go our intrepid hacks, and what do they find? Someone or something is living down there, and whatever it is, it is not very friendly. It remains to be seen if this film or the entire genre was inspired in whole or in part by "The Blair Witch Project", but however enigmatic this particular offering, be prepared for a fair amount of boredom, though at least the soundtrack is thematic.

A found footage horror mixed with interviews dealing with what was in the tunnels. An Australian film crew hits the tunnels looking for any sign of homeless people and reasons why the water program was abandoned. The deeper they get the more horrors they face. This was the film that they crowdfunded by selling the 135 000 frames that made up the film for one dollar each. This was also the first film they made just to be put on bitTorrent sites for free. They ended up selling 35 000 frames but had a good amount of orders in for DVDs to make a go of it.The film wasn't too bad with a few genuine scares, but after 45 minutes it seems too long. I liked the effect of the camera lens breaking near the end forcing us to watch the final frames through a cracked lens. A majority of the film is in the dark which makes for not knowing what the hell is going on.

Or was this just awful? Derivative to the point of parody but not self aware enough to play it for laughs. The lack of any spark of originality would be alright if it weren't also utterly unconvincing at almost every step. Add to that a framing device that sucks all the tension out of the drama and you're left wondering what the writers were thinking. It's hard to blame the actors as there's not much to work with, but they manage to either barely register or irritate. What frustrated most is that the setting is genuinely creepy and they even manage one good scene, but it's way too little, way too late. A few seconds of atmosphere in a seemingly endless ninety minutes of dreary exposition and aimless, hysterical panic is not enough. God only knows why the average rating is so high on here. Are people accidentally rating the TV series of the same name? Or have they been threatened with a sequel if they don't inflate their grade? Please don't make a follow up ... this was already a massive number two.

I was really pleasantly surprised with this movie. The basic premise is promising but the storyline isn't so hot but it is held together by some excellent and very real solid acting.I don't like this type of movie usually but this didn't rely upon loud noises to make you jump or preposterous baddies and blood and guts.it was well directed and stayed within realistic boundaries to keep your interest.the four main actors acquitted themselves well and gave what could have been a bad film real life and interest.I don't understand why some people have been so unfriendly towards this film; perhaps they are fans of Texas Chain Saw and Amityville. It isn't that type of film.
