Sadly Over-hyped
... View MoreThe joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
... View MoreIt's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
... View MoreIt's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
... View MoreThis film is horrible. There are no plot holes because there is no plot and the "actors", well ... BUT - there is "Paperman" : A person with absolutely no connection to other parts of the movie. Its a mix between a mummy, toilet paper and ninja (which is great). But, after fighting the main protagonist for like no reason he disappears for the rest of the film. The background and overall scenery looks pretty cool, there is a room made out of skulls and spinning things and stuff like this, but the final questions must be: WHERE IS PAPERMAN? WHAT HAPPENED TO PAPERMAN? WILL THERE BE ANOTHER MOVIE WITH PAPERMAN IN IT? The rating is made by 4 points for the movie and 5 bonus points for Paperman.
... View MoreNo, it wasn't the fact that a pop star was in it... he was actually quite good. The movie was so bad because the script was terrible and it was so badly cut. Nice tributes to almost every adventure movie out there... some might call it theft, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The acting was quite good... and I've always been a sucker for a motorcycle, a damsel in distress and a bit of ancient history... It could have been just an enjoyable adventure romp... but the script was awful... Such a shame... such a waste...I bought the DVD... Anyone want it?
... View MoreAfter 40 minutes watching it patiently (searching for understandable lines),I had to turn it off in HUGE disappointment because my patience is limited. Indeed I WAS a fan of Jay Chou but recently he has let me down by both his singing and acting career. The movie "Bu neng shou de mi mi" made a good impression on me while Chou' latest movie is just a piece of crap!I really feel sorry for Chou's fans and ex-fans who put their trust in this unbearable movie. I could not understand how Jay Chou would acted as badly as he did in this movie. His appearance which made him look like a 40-year-old miserable man was extremely ridiculous (but it helped in some way 'cuz Chi Ling is 5 year older than him!) Can anyone who has watched this film find the 2 main characters (played by Chou and Chi Ling)feel for each others? Besides, the action scenes were pompous with nothing worth seeing. And Chi Ling's acting contributed greatly to the failure of this movie. When you look at her "acting skills", her facial expressions, you find nothing. She made you think that when she smiled it was not that she was cheerful and there were nothing sad enough to cry for when she cried (her reaction after being informed about her father' death is a great example)I wonder why such a model could have been selected to act in a movie? I have a piece of advice to you all: if you don't mind being treated or wasting your time, go see this movie!
... View MoreOnly Jay Chow's 16 yrs old fans would find this movie bearable. Because throughout the whole movie, there is nothing but bad jokes, bad lines and even worse acting. I am no professional film critic, I am merely trying to tell people how BAD this movie is. In fact, I registered on IMDb just to express my feelings. 1 out of 10 would probably be an exaggeration for some people, I gave it such a low score is because I actually expected this movie to be good. Granted, Jay Chow is not famous for his acting, the movie Gong fu guan lan (Kung fu slam dunk) is a pretty good example, but both his directing and acting in Bu neng shuo de. mi mi (the Unspeakable secret) was actually pretty good. I was proved wrong.
