It's a very deceptive film, so deceptive I almost stopped watching it about 20 minutes into the film. I don't do that, I hardly ever consider the option. Lucky thing is - I stayed with it, thinking - "it's supposed to be 10 different stories, maybe some would be good." I was wrong - It's not 10 different stories it's rarely is when the same director and writers are responsible for the whole lot. But the start does look like a series of bad SNL sketches. So stupid and surreal they seem to be there for the sheer provocation value. Irreverent to the point of sacrilegious, I don't mind either as long as there's a reason for the provocation, if it's just for provocation's sake - count me out. Well in this movie there is, but only when the stories start to connect you can begin to see the "whole picture". This takes very careful and clever writing, very deftly disguised under the utter senselessness of the stories. The amazing thing is the quality performance of most actors and actresses - it's hard to do when the story is so unreal. Two points I liked less about the film - not all the stories integrate so well into the complete pattern of things, and the sign off song. Yes it's cynical and witty as required, but it's like the writers didn't trust their audience to figure it all by themselves - if they didn't they probably wouldn't be there to see the final song and even if they did I'm not sure they'd be following the lyrics closely enough. Bottom line - it's not funny, it's not trying to be funny it's satirical and thought provoking and you'll see it too if you hang in there past the first 20-30 minutes.

I stuck around for four of the ten 'stories'. I failed to find one iota of humor in any of them. Not even a hint of entertainment! Also, I found the emcee character, and his 'wife', to be dweebie and very annoying. I am truly concerned with our society in knowing that some folks found this despicable mess at all funny. I also worry that there are people who would put up the money to produce this unadulterated trash, and that the performers (some well respected names) would lower themselves to appear in it.Since I only saw about 40% of this disgusting debacle, I can't say it is the worst movie I ever saw, it is merely 40% of the worst movie I ever saw.Run from this toxic waste!

Recap: Ten loosely connected, absurd stories based on the ten commandments. Presented by a guy who is in the middle of a separation with his wife.Comments: Utterly pointless. The episodes are absurd and can best be described as silly. Incoherent and mostly plain stupid. But then there is a glimmer of hope when a joke or some completely absurdity actually is a little funny. And that is one of the few strong points it has. It doesn't play by any rules so it is quite unpredictable. But often the unpredictable is just absurd instead of crazy and fun, and even if the intention is good it mostly fails. With this kind of weak story it is very surprising how they managed to get such an impressive cast. Most have only forgettable small roles, almost cameos, and can't do very much to save the movie. But it is kind of a star-spotting.Well, apart from that this was a complete waste of time. Far from the worst I have ever seen, but if I could go back I would see something else. Or nothing at all… 3/10

David Wain, Ken Marino, and Paul Rudd do incredible work together. All three of their voices are very evident and if you're a fan of any of them, you'll like this. You'll notice that people have a tendency to call it the worst movie they've ever seen, or rate it zero stars. The truth is the humor is so incredibly absurd that it won't appeal to everyone. If you go into it not wanting to like it, you probably won't.I personally laughed the whole way. So has every audience I've seen it with. Some of the sketches are stronger than others (my personal favorite being any of the ones with Ken Marino's character, like Murder and Covet they neighbors wife) but I assure you if you keep an open mind, one of them will appeal to you.
