The Stöned Age Trailers

Determined to avoid another night of driving aimlessly around Torrance in the Blue Torpedo, Joe and Hubbs set out on a quest for fine chicks. Their paths soon cross with Tack, from whom they learn about a pair of foreign radical chicks hanging out near the Frankie Avalon place. Over Joe's objections, Hubbs worms Tack out of the deal, and the pair take a slow ride toward their destiny.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

I just watched the special edition of this movie and the commentary explains a lot. I watched this movie at least 100 times in the 90's. They did not identify the time period because they did not have the budget to maintain it (although it is supposed to be in the 70's). The production company compares it to Dazed and Confused on the box not the writers. Dazed and confused was a lame movie that tried to be funny at times and serious at times and failed at both. Stoned age tries only to be completely ridiculous and succeeds. If you liked Dazed and confused get a life and don't watch this movie it is intended for people who take themselves less seriously.

The comparisons to Dazed and Confused need to stop. Dazed was a throw back to good times and standing up for what you believe in. The Stoned Age is about a group of mindless stoners just looking to score, yet is entertaining in it's own right. This film starts out slow and sophomoric, but has a tendency to grow on the viewer after awhile. The film finds it's groove with sensitive stoner Joe(well played by unknown Michael Kopelow) connecting with plane Jill(cute China Kantner, who under the right light, resembles Jennifer Aniston) The jokes are hit and miss, and are rather childish on top of that, yet there is a subtle charm working for this film. Maybe Renee Ammann, who is female perfection personified, has something to do with it's appeal.Okay, but don't compare it with Dazed & Confused, because you'll be utterly disappointed.

This movie is to the 70s what American Graffiti or Hollywood Knights is to the early 60s. It's absurd to listen to someone born in 1985 put this movie down as not being accurate as "Dazed and Confused". I graduated in the 70s and this movie captures the era better than any that I have seen.

This is my fav movie, every person in this movie is cool. I wish some day that a sequal will be made, who ever made this movie should of won some kind of award,I think this movie doesn't get the credit it deserves for being one of the best films ever. It is sad that every movie now has either some fake rapper or a billion dollar budget, blue oyster cult is way cooler then nelly or emenim and colt 45 is way cooler then smirnof ice,I'm only 18 but I have way more respect for this generation then my own.
