It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I used to find the theme song to be annoying. The film is about a lonely boy who escapes into a fantasy world through a fantasy novel after being bullied by some boys. The movie is satisfactory and light entertaining. The movie is ideal for children even with the outdated special effects. If you want a film to make you feel good about yourself on a rainy day, this movie will do it.

This movie is still one of my all time favorite's from when I was a little kid playing with my toys in front of my television. This Is a movie that I have watched over and over again a million times and never get bored of it. To this day I still watch it and still enjoy it just as much when i was a kid playing it in my VHS player. This movie is a movie that everyone must see and experience the wonderful NeverEnding Story! 10/10!!!

not the best adaptation. but useful one as beautiful invitation to discover the book. because, far to be the most inspired, it preserves the spirit and the delicacy and the pieces of unique images from a book who remains, for many of its readers, real special. and this is the most important thing in this case. to remind fundamental values. to rediscover great characters. to redefine small things. to preserve the magic of childhood. it was one of the first films viewed by me after the 1989 Romanian revolution. and, after 27 years ago, it remains more than a beautiful memory, associated with the freedom, it is one of the most accurate definition of it. so, a beautiful film. maybe, useful for its young public.

My daughter was very disappointed from the movie. After reading the the book by Michael Ende. The movie is lacking key factors of the book and many important messages are distorted or just not there. I feel the same as she. She and I were eager to meet many characters from the book that are just not there. The movie tries to represent only half the book in a very unsuccessful manner. I totally understand Michael Ende for suing the movie production and asking his name to be withdraw. If you separate the movie from the book, the story itself is dull. The characters that do show are very colorful but without real character and are seen for glimpse moments without a chance for the viewer to 'get to know' them. If you didn't read the book it may be a nice movie for little kids but not the age it is originally intended to be for. It may fill a boring afternoon with a hot chocolate milk in a winter day but that's all.
