Very well executed
... View MoreDon't listen to the Hype. It's awful
... View MoreThe film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.
... View MoreThis is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
... View MoreIt's a typical Statham flick, nothing less, nothing more, nothing extraordinary, but just enough to carry you through, the background score is good, complements well the style and suave to the movie, action scenes are not noteworthy, but overall the movie just about does the job for a Statham fan. Will go with a 5.5-6 out of 10 for this one...
... View MoreFollows an elite hit man as he teaches his trade to an apprentice who has a connection to one of his previous victims. Although The Mechanic packs some great punches for example the action is good and the tension is pretty cool and both Jason Statham and Ben Foster are really good unfortunately the talented Donald Sutherland is easily wasted very early in the movie, Tony Goldwyn as the villain is easily forgettable and the whole thing with the gay assassin was pretty funny and came out of nowhere it's not a bad action film or even a bad Jason Statham movie but it needed more action and better villains besides that it's a nice action film but nothing more than that.
... View MoreI will keep this review like the movie: short, fast paced, and grabs your attention. The movie is sure to keep you entertained, yet there is nothing memorable about it. The plot is very stereotypical of a "secret agent" action film, where there is a double-crosser in an organization and our hero/hit-man tracks them down to hand out his justice. Some of the action is over the top which could have been replaced with some character development or a more intricate, thought through plot . They concluded the film with a quick ending and no explanation for the actions that occurred. In conclusion it was an entertaining action packed 93 minutes, but lacked substance.
... View MoreWhen I saw this DVD in the used DVD rack, I didn't realize that, even though it had the same name, it really is a poor remake of the Charles Bronson, Jan Michael Vincent classic. (Hollywood, could you possibly find an original thought in your collective heads?) Oh, the cinematography and shot designs are modern, and Statham delivers a solid performance, but Foster as Steve McKenna NEVER convinced me he harbored an inner psychotic or had any real desire to be a hit man. In fact, his performance is more sophomoric than it is moody. In the original (1972), Bronson's brooding loner and Vincent's devil-may-care swagger make the story believable, and, ultimately, much more disturbing.Don't watch remakes...for the most part, they get made because a studio "suit" dusted off the earnings spreadsheet for the original and decided that the well could be tapped again for more dough. And, most of the time, they suck.
