Tied for the best movie I have ever seen
... View MoreSimple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
... View MoreThe first must-see film of the year.
... View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
... View MoreBest casting in movie history!! I just want a sequel and another one.. And great acting
... View MoreI don't know why this awful action-comedy film is massively popular. The plot is ridiculous, the action is mediocre and it isn't funny. Why does the film portray Bogotá as a small settlement in a tropical rainforest? It's a very large city, that, because of its very high altitude, isn't hot.
... View MoreBack when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were getting more attention than any couple since Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton it seemed serendipitous that Mr.&Mrs. Smith arrived as a film vehicle to take advantage of all that publicity. It certainly features the sex appeal of both. With a lot of violence thrown in as well. In fact the violence is positively erotic at times.Pitt and Jolie are a pair of hit people who work for different arms of the federal government and if you can believe it have no idea what the other does. They get assigned from their agencies to the same case, but one to protect, the other to destroy a target played by Adam Brody. After that they learn of each other and try to kill each other.Even before Jolie was raiding tombs as Lara Croft she certainly had the fighting skills and spirit. Looking at the two of them I really got the impression they were having some great fun together. That fact really permeates your experience watching Mr.&Mrs. Smith.Just beware lest you think that this is remake of the Alfred Hitchcock film Mr.&Mrs. Smith. That it's not, but these Smiths are enjoyable enough as is.
... View MoreJohn and Jane Smith are married, living a normal life in a normal suburb and working normal jobs. In reality, John and Jane are both skilled assassins working for different firms, both the best in their field, each concealing their true profession from the other. When both are assigned to kill a man nicknamed "The Tank", they encounter each other on the job and discover the truth. Both employers task one to eliminate the other, and each must choose between their personal and professional lives.Jolie and Pitt have a body of work that is wonderfully ranged, and for each Fight Club and Tomb Raider, you have a Tomb Raider and an Oceans 12.This lies somewhere in between the quality of their movies, and it's nothing more than a light piece of fluff that is designed for the high concept summer market. And I guarantee that this wouldn't have made nearly as much as it did, if it wasn't for the two leads getting together. The two have wonderful chemistry together, and they do look like a proper couple, which only adds to the enjoyment of the film. It does go really over the top toward the end, with a pointless Butch and Sundance type shot out which drags a little after a such a wonderful car chase. But despite the film being really good looking, and making us normal, middle class people that little bit envious of the house size and the looks, the film is nothing more than a summer blockbuster, made only to entertain for its duration, and to be forgotten about soon after.Reportedly, Jennifer Aniston does not own a copy.
