Mr. & Mrs. Smith Trailers

After five (or six) years of vanilla-wedded bliss, ordinary suburbanites John and Jane Smith are stuck in a huge rut. Unbeknownst to each other, they are both coolly lethal, highly-paid assassins working for rival organisations. When they discover they're each other's next target, their secret lives collide in a spicy, explosive mix of wicked comedy, pent-up passion, nonstop action and high-tech weaponry.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

Maybe I'll look stupid for saying this, but I adore this movie. Angelina from time when I couldn't decide if she was better actress or hotter chick and Bred who is one of the best actors in his generation. Angelina went to hell and back these days and Brad is cast into shadows by new generation of even better looking good actors, but for me, this movie remains one of the dearest love stories Hollywood gave us.............................................................

They're a lovely couple, aren't they? I'm watching this a couple weeks after Angelina Jolie made major headlines by her decision to divorce Brad Pitt, take the kids and split. I don't follow these celebrity trials and tribulations, but could anyone doubt that would happen someday? It just seems par for the course.Well this plays out like it might have been a warm-up for the divorce settlement. I have to say, their little marital spat in the movie was handled rather creatively. Set up as bait between rival government agencies to take each other out via the extermination route, John (Pitt) and Jane (Jolie) Smith display remarkable creativity in choice of tactics and methods. One major gaffe by Johnny though when he missed catching the base charge on the primary cable at Jane's company. Heck, everyone knows that's where you're supposed to look first.Hey, it's over the top and mindless, but at the same time it's a fun flick if you go for this kind of stuff. I don't know if either star ever looked better on screen, and Vince Vaughn was priceless in his role as the calm and collected buddy of Johnny-boy. I think they could have played down Janey's number of kills though, three hundred and twelve sounded like a bit of a stretch. With a hint of assassination tango, this is the kind of film you can watch and just let your mind wander without too much strain, so go ahead and give it a shot. Figuratively speaking of course.

Back when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were getting more attention than any couple since Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton it seemed serendipitous that Mr.&Mrs. Smith arrived as a film vehicle to take advantage of all that publicity. It certainly features the sex appeal of both. With a lot of violence thrown in as well. In fact the violence is positively erotic at times.Pitt and Jolie are a pair of hit people who work for different arms of the federal government and if you can believe it have no idea what the other does. They get assigned from their agencies to the same case, but one to protect, the other to destroy a target played by Adam Brody. After that they learn of each other and try to kill each other.Even before Jolie was raiding tombs as Lara Croft she certainly had the fighting skills and spirit. Looking at the two of them I really got the impression they were having some great fun together. That fact really permeates your experience watching Mr.&Mrs. Smith.Just beware lest you think that this is remake of the Alfred Hitchcock film Mr.&Mrs. Smith. That it's not, but these Smiths are enjoyable enough as is.

"Mr. & Mrs. Smith" is actually a rather enjoyable film, and I can say that with all honesty despite not being overly much a fan of neither Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. It is a combination of the storyline, the action and the acting that makes "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" work out so nicely. The storyline is about married couple John (played by Brad Pitt) and Jane (played by Angelina Jolie) who has been married for 5-6 years. They lead fairly mundane lives together, but individually they are both top trained agents. Things become very complicated for the couple as their respective agencies set them up to kill one another."Mr. & Mrs. Smith" is very fast paced, and the story does get up into high gear right from the very beginning, and it actually never slows down. And on that account, then you are in for a very enjoyable thrill ride. The characters in the movie are actually quite nicely detailed and fleshed out on the screen. And they are characters that you instantly take a liking to and that you feel connected to somehow. But a lot of credit does, of course, go to the actors and actresses in the movie, as they really put their heart and spirit into the movie. What really impressed me in this movie was the action sequences and the amount of action throughout the course of the movie. There was such an abundance of action to satisfy essentially everyone.I was more than thoroughly entertained by "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". And I can say that it is actually a movie that you can watch more than just once.
