Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

In spite of some amount of predictability, the story was original enough, romantic enough, and the girl sexy enough to watch. I liked that it was a francoamerican the hero too. Refreshing.

the movie socks! I mean it simple and repeated story with a fake plays and not even close to a movie forget about watching it. The films listed below have been cited by a variety of notable critics in varying media sources as being among the worst films ever made. let me call it as a hilariously awful gangster film...one of the worst films ever made.

This was a good book, I enjoyed the movie too, a decent enough adaption of another Nicholas Sparks romance. I think it could have benefited from being slightly longer as some of the major plot points were glazed over but on that note I wonder if I would have thought the same thing if I hadn't read the book first? Anyways, Zac Efron is nice to look at and does a good job as a slightly PSD'd Iraq war veteran who returns from his third tour of duty and tracks down the woman from a photo he credits with keeping him alive. His good luck charm, a woman he doesn't know but who he soon suspects may be the love of his life.I enjoyed quite a few things about this movie; it's beautifully shot; sunlight filtering through trees in Louisiana. I liked Blythe Danner as the grandma, I liked the relationship 'Logan' develops with Beth's son, playing chess and the sweet scene where he gets the courage to play violin in church. Taylor Schilling was good as the love interest too, she had several emotional scenes to get through. And Jay R. Ferguson does a great job as the bad guy/sheriff/ex-husband. He is a character that you can easily hate, which is always fun.My favorite scene in this movie would be when Logan "schools" 'Keith' disarming the drunken bully on a crowded street, all the while maintaining his cool and making Beth's ex the Sheriff look like a total ass.I was disappointed with the "exciting" climax though; a storm, rising flood waters, a child trapped on a wooden bridge and both men fighting through the waters. This had a hugely suspenseful build up in the book and for a while you're not even sure who survives. Here the whole scene is done and dusted in about 5 minutes. Lame. 6 /14/15

You know there was a day when Nicholas Sparks's movies were actually good, like the notebook. But this movie really set the bar to a horribly low standard. The acting was disgraceful, the acting was like something out of a cheap Hallmark movie. The script was boring and bland just like the plot line. Also, there wasn't really a lot of chemistry between our two romantic leads. I have not gotten a chance to read the book the lucky one, but hopefully it was a lot better than this! Gosh this movie wasn't sweet or cute or romantic, it didn't make me feel good, I really miss the notebook! I wish that he still made movies like that. Blithe dinner was actually one actress that I enjoyed and the Pham, her performance was really the only part of the film I liked. In fact she's the only reason that this film got a two instead of a one out of 10.
