The Lil River Rats and the Adventure of the Lost Treasure Trailers

Nine-year-old Molly Brown lived and breathed "that river." After her mother died it was just her and her dad, Paul, and of course "cappy" her ailing grandfather, but with all cappy’s medical bills, Paul’s only choice is to sell everything, including the family home, and move away. But Molly can't leave her friends and the river, especially the river... it’s been her whole life! She has to make a plan!

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Acting was terrible, both for the kids and the adults. Most to all characters showed no, little or not enough emotion. The lighting was terrible, and there were too many mess ups about the time of the day the film was shot (In the river scene where they just get their boat destroyed, there's 4 shots; The sheriff and Dad in the evening on their boat, Jillian and Molly in the evening swimming, the rest of the kids in the daytime *when it's supposed to in the evening* at the river bank, and the doctor, Beatrice, and Simonton at night but not in the evening getting off their boat.) The best acting in the movie was probably from the sheriff, Cappy (Although, there's a slip of character when the pulse detector *Whatever that thing is when people die, it beeps* shows Cappy has died, he still moves while it can still be heard beeping, and while the nurse extra checks his pulse manually, then it shows the pulse again, and THEN he finally dies.) I guess it's not going to be perfect, since it's an independent movie, but it still could be better. Not worth watching, honestly, even for kids. Might as well watch something good, like The Lion King or Toy Story if you're going to see anything you'll remember.

This was the WORST movie I have ever seen! Molly (molly hall) could not act AT ALL! she had no emotion it was all blah blah blah like she was reading out of a boring text book. The smart kid and the kid who loves food (there names weren't worth remembering) were so annoying it drove me crazy. When ever the talked it was about some scientific thing or food. Mollys Dad didn't show enough emotion about his daughter missing. The police officer and Mollys dad said the same thing like four times. it was just horrible. Everything was repeated way to much. Beatrice should have had something bad happen to her for being so mean. I just wasted a moment in my life by watching this movie!

We watched Lil River Rats last weekend and it was a great movie. My kids 10 and 8 love the movie and thought it was like a movie on the Disney Channel. The boat, river and bear were all very cool and it really looked like a Hollywood movie rather than an independent film. The end of the movie was very suspenseful. There was a lot of work that went into this film and I think it was shot on location in Indiana. We saw the first movie from this filmmaker 587 The Great Train Robbery and it was excellent too. I thought the kid that had the Hal 9000 computer was pretty funny. The water balloon fight was funny too. I wonder how they controlled the helicopters to drop the balloons. The story flowed along very well and all the kids did a great job acting. The sound effects and music were also done very well and added to the movie viewing experience.

My son got me out of bed on Sunday to watch this with him on cable. He had seen it before and wanted me to watch it with him again. I sat down with him and we watched this together, it was a real treat! It was on early on cable before we went to church, it had a good theme for kids, and parents. It was something we could do together. It was a fun family film. Good scenery, and funny parts through out. I liked the kids in the movie and so did he. The bear scenes were funny and scary to him. But the message of the movie he got. He wants to build a raft now. And go looking for treasure, but we don't live near a river so it's the pool in the backyard. I would recommend this movie to any family.
