It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The coming together of director Rituparno Ghosh and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan along with Preity Zinta,Arjun Rampal and Shefali Shah is what makes the last lear really special for its fans. No doubt the film is really good as could be seen during its world premiere at Toronto International film festival,where it received tremendous reception and was highly appreciated.Amitabh Bachchan who plays the role of Harish,a Shakespeare age stage actor is brilliant in the film.This could be said to be his best performance till date.All the stars in the film,be it Preity Zinta,Arjun Rampal or Shefali Shah,are exceptionally good in the film. People should see the film to see Amitabh Bachchan's brilliance. The Last Lear is a very intelligently and well-made movie. Shakespearean dialogs and references are used cleverly. Amitabh Bachchan is mesmerizing.

The movie is based on a Shakespearean age stage actor,Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan).Harish also called harry, is a die hard fan of Shakespeare and thus aspired to be a successful stage actor at a stage in his life. In the last lear,after a long long time I see the character of the movie Harish and not Amitabh Bacchan because what Amitabh did was he became Harish and was not seen anywhere as the personality that he is.Amitabh Bachchan was at his best. Rituparno Bachchan,Amitabh Bachchan and Arindam Chaudhuri,very rare combination but done their excellent job in this movie The Last Lear.The movie is in English and i really like the way Shakespeare's art portrayed in this movie.

I really like the plays of Shakespeare and this is the first time i have seen the movie based on his play,an art movie.I have seen all the movies given by Arindam Chaudhuri's Planman Productions and this is perhaps their best movie.The Last Lear,perfect title for the movie,with perfect cast and perfect story.The director finds a way of telling you the story of Harish(Harry) in a slow but amusing way!The last lear is about Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan),a retired Shakespearean theater actor who spent precisely more than thirty years on stage and then suddenly quit.He is immensely passionate about Shakespeare and believes that nothing even comparable can ever be written.

The Last Lear is a very decent movie made by Rituparno Ghosh.The film was released in English by Planman Motion Pictures.It is a very good film where every actor has given a very good performance..The Last Lear is the story of an aged theater personality who claims to have set the stages ablaze with his performances. The kind of actor who considers himself too good simply because he just cannot be bad.Each and every scene has been beautifully shot and the emotions of actors are beautifully relayed across the screen. Rituparno Ghosh has made a brilliant art film that can not be replaced easily.Who haven't watched this kind of movie surely gonna love it.
