This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

there are only a few reasons why this movie isn't in the 5 dollar bin or forgotten all together: 1. the acting (while not flawless) keeps the movie from being completely stale. 2.it has amassed a reasonable fan following from a previous foreign film and a book. 3. the directors and writers of this movie, i'm sure, were not idiots. they put moments in the movie that at the same time completely cliché and faux dramatic, but are still compelling to the viewer (for example overdosing on drugs or resorting to suicide to escape limbo). just like when your average corrupt politician makes a speech about his recent trip to feed the kids in Africa or just so happens to mention how much he gave to charity. its a shameless con to get you to think there is substance in the movie. when in actuality, the movie is stuck in limbo.

Gorgeous girly-faced Nick (Justin Chatwin) is a high achiever whose friend falls foul of gorgeous beanie-hatted thug girl Annie (Margarita Levieva). This leads to Nick being beaten to death, kind of. Except that he refuses to be dead and keeps running round being annoying. Fortunately (except for the audience) nobody can see him, kind of. But Annie takes off her hat, and her gorgeous wavy hair redeems her and, after a race against time, all ends happily. Kind of.The movie is an odd mixture of quite good and mediocre, and doesn't entirely go in the direction you expect it to, which is a good thing, and I quite enjoyed it. Kind of

I was flicking between giving this a 6 or a 7 out of 10 during the film but toward the end it dropped to a 5 or a 6. I chose 6 because it was enjoyable, the acting is good as the characters are well played but the plot kind of loses its way. Other than the main plot, it has an undercurrent theme about parent and child relationships and the effects this has on the children in teenage life; it's not in your face this theme but it is present and supports the main story well. The main story is summed up sufficiently in the product description.Cheers Mike

going into this movie,i had no idea what to expect.what i got was a well written, well directed, well acted film.it's not like any film i've seen before.on an emotional level,it's very touching.the acting is superb, but Justin Chatwin and Margarita Levieva(who are really the central characters)are standouts,in my opinion.they each inhabit their characters.it's a complex(but not complicated) film with many themes running through it.hatred, love, loss, sorrow re4demptioand irony,to name a few.this film sticks with you after viewing it.you really have to take some time to digest what you have seen.it bears more than one viewing.for me,The Invisible is an 8/10
