Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

A deliberately ambiguous story-line can be extremely frustrating (as ratings for this film indicate). It's a film that reinforces your beliefs, but no matter how many times watching, it never fully confirms them. You think you know, but you are always not totally sure. These cinema gems get lost in history, but truly are magnificent little works. Watch it again couple decades later, little if anything will be lost (or better understood). If you want to be challenged and contemplate the human condition.. this is your type of production. The cast is wonderful, and hit every mark. Should they have ended with another viewpoint.. maybe, most films can and do... but this one seems to work for this moment in time. It's a film that those who have watched it more than once give it higher ratings. She took that extra time.. and made her ultimate 'choice.' He had chances, and missed them each time.. her troubled gaze at the end says it all.
