Starship Troopers: Invasion Trailers

The troopers of two starships have joined forces to terminate a massive bug attack at a Federation outpost. Before the mission can be completed and the survivors evacuated, one ship abruptly departs and goes inexplicably dark. The remaining battle-hardened troopers race to the rescue only to discover that the threat from the bugs is about to hit home.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Excuse me if my "dork" is showing, but I don't think anyone here has read the book, much less followed the seasons of "Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper chronicles" ~ How about the comics? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?Robert Heinlein is a genius. I love his work. The original movie had a few common threads with the book, but was largely different. Movies 2 and 3 were all cheese factor level 10, but I loved them anyway. This movie "Invasion" was closer to the book than all the movies, the series and comics combined. It was AWESOME. PLUS, it takes place AFTER the Roughnecks series ended with The Homefront Campaign. If you want to see one of the best animated series ever created, get your hands on Roughnecks. As far as this particular movie is concerned, I give it the 10 out of 10 it deserves. I loved everything about it from the gratuitous nudity to the gore. I highly highly (underline highly) recommend watching Roughnecks/reading the book (in no particular order because they're different) and THEN watching Invasion. You'll see it in a whole different light.

After the disappointment of the third movie not quite living up to the expectations I had for it, this addition to the franchise was a sigh of relief, and honestly a fun ride. The thing that made the first movie so great was that it WAS corny, over the top, and sucked you into a universe you thought would be fantastic to live in. This movie gives us what we want. Action, simple story line, and actual empathy with the characters. I honestly felt like I was part of the story at times. While the movie certainly isn't quite 10 star material, it delivers on all fronts the elements that made the first movie so much fun. Plus, if you're a die hard fan of the series, you'll enjoy it just because you get to see the continuation of some of your favorite characters. The CGI was cool but in my opinion it would have been cooler if they just made it live action. At times it felt like I was watching an extended video game cut scene (when are they giving us a Starship Troopers video game???). After the first 30 minutes I barely noticed it, however, and just allowed myself to watch the movie as it was. Overall, it's fun, it's blood soaked, it has just the right amount of nudity and the franchise's attempt at wit to make it very likable. Sometimes a bit predictable and corny, but again, that's what made the first movie such a delight. 8/10, would recommend to sci-fi fans, Starship Trooper fans, and anyone looking to watch a fun movie.

Skip the 2nd and 3rd movie. This is a canon continuation to the animation series, the original characters have become big wigs in this movie in their respective fields. The staffs are mostly Japanese so expect Japanese quality of CGI and style. The dialogs were quite awkward, maybe because the script was originally in Japanese, but you can get used to that. The actions were awesome and there's some nudity as well. For 80 minutes movie, it was extremely satisfying. Many questions were left unanswered so I expect more sequels to be made. For Starship Troopers fans, this is a must watch.

Starship troopers returns with much more faith to the novel.Humanity is still fighting their war against overwhelming swarms of the bugs or "Pseudo-Arachnids, battling them in Exo-powered suits and other feat of military technological advancement much as what Robert Heinleins describe in his book. Fans and those who have seen the past films will appreciate and enjoy a generous face lift of the Starship troopers universe in CGI than its live-action predecessors, with the return of their favorite characters since the 1997 film. However this film may cause confusion to those who haven't read the book and watched the past films or the Starship Troopers: Roughneck TV show. With their lack of understanding of the film or the Starship troopers universe, they may not like the weak story and some what a cliff-hanger ending but this was designed to open the audience to a possible sequel to which most fans anticipate.Verdict: Fans will enjoy this film while non-fans you might want to get acquainted with the Starship Troopers first. I am happy this film did good for the Starhip Troopers universe and waiting for the sequel.
