Brilliant and touching
... View MoreThis is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
... View MoreThe movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
... View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
... View MoreThis movie was simply OK. It is extremely hard to understand all of the time. It starts out with a bunch of friends at a vacation cabin until 2 go missing. apparently there looks to be a ghost child a random stalker outside and some1 who walks in their house. it also is mainly gory. it is not scary all it is is gory and at rare times suspenseful. It switches at random moments to the friends dying to whatever. it makes no sense. it also ends in the random stalker killing the guy killing the kids in his own house and apparently the little girl is his daughter? WTF and u realize this all at around the last 10 minutes. there isn't any reason the stalker to be in the killer's house. it is just funny. while i was watching it i called the killer "The hiker" cause he's always hiking somewhere or killing some1. no sense. oh hes also a plastic surgeon
... View MoreSeveral couples descend on a cabin in the woods for a little R&R Unfortunately, there is a mad killer on the loose and he starts picking them off one by one. We get to see some nifty torture sequences straight out of HOSTEL. The acting is strictly from hunger, but what else is new in the slasher category? The novelty of this inexpensive, 80s-style horror flick is that some of the couples are black and the story is largely seen through the eyes of two black guys. Too much wandering around the woods, which is standard for this type of movie, to help pad out the running time. While it will not win any awards, SOMEBODY is watchable. And better than AX 'EM. Far, far better.
... View MoreWhen I was watching this movie I was thinking how anybody can write so stupid script because: - In real life if you have a crazy killer on your tail and you find a shotgun you don't forget it in the car.In real life if you have a crazy killer just in the floor and you have a knife you will make sure he will not stand up again. In real life if you have a unarmed crazy killer slashing your friends and you are a big and strong man you didn't stay hidden watching it.And the last in real life if you have a crazy killer slashing your friends you will not leave alone the weaker part of your team.To made it short this movie is a nonsense from the beginning to the end.Somebody help me, I watched this movie.
... View MoreI Just got a screener of the DVD 'Somebody Help Me'...After reading mixed reviews - a lot of pretty good ones mind, I was quite looking forward to seeing it. The story seemed pretty familiar, five couples go to a cabin in the woods, slasher killer around picking them off one by one...you know the rest!!! But as soon as the film was on I thought it was pretty good. The acting was quite good, above average for a DTV film, and the setting was really good I thought. They chucked in the obvious 'IT COULD BE'S' like all these films do, but this had a kind of supernatural twist to it too, which never really materialised into anything. But it had a kind of 'SAW' feel to it too. I don't want to spoil things too much!!! Also it did have some nice gore effects, (I'm a massive gorehound) although not a gorefest by any stretch of the imagination. This for me was heading for a strong 7/10 - the ending was "Oh, is that it...", it left me totally unsatisfied and kind of cheated in a way as it just did'nt explain what I had just seen for the last hour and a half. Massive let down for us - maybe somebody may be able to help me out! -I just did'nt get it. 5/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
