Very Cool!!!
... View MoreMost undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
... View MoreIt’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
... View MoreIf you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
... View MoreYes, it's that bad.Silent Sam is not from the "it's so bad it's good" school of filmmaking but the "it's so bad in can induce stomach cramps, diarrhea and possibly blindness or stroke" school of filmmaking. You thought the Ugandans were first in shoddy CGI effects and worse action sequences? Guess again. It's my belief that the entire Ugandan "action"-film industry as it is today is based sorely on this movie. At least the Ugandans have the relative poverty of their production "industry" to explain the shoddiness of their productions. This "movie" has no excuse. The story(credited to one of the co-"directors") is actually a rip-off of Beat Takeshi's vastly superior Hana-Bi(Fireworks).See that film instead. How do I know this?I'm in it. The budget is a lie. Closer to $100,00(if that) and none of the actors were paid.In fact, some of the lead "actors" paid for the privilege to be in it(except for me and some of the other bit players who worked for free, including the young female actors who had to expose themselves. Talk about chauvinism).Imagine paying to be in a piece of dreck like this thinking it would quick start a career in film?As to the DVD(if you bought one???),it is suitable for use as a coaster or better yet, a trivet.Just in case you didn't know it, all the "good" reviews for this flop were written by the producers/writers(ha)/directors(ha,ha).You'll thank me. Believe me.
... View MoreSam Ramirez (Richard Collier) is a middle aged balding detective who can easily overpower men who are younger, larger, and armed. His wife (Kimberley Curran) is dying and has a last wish of drinking hot chocolate by the lake...it is winter, in most scenes. Sam is on a stakeout that goes bad. His partner gets killed, and Sam kills the brother of a crime boss. Sam takes a suitcase full of money too. There is a price on his head as he attempts to take his wife to the lake. The cinematography looked like a 1980's direct to VHS film. The scenes changed from snow everywhere on the ground to no snow and bird's chirping. If you think the gun fire looked faked wait until to get the Nintendo style driving graphics. It was just so funny. The chase scene was incredibly faked. The film was so bad, I liked it.Guide: F-word, nudity (Claudia Wit, Dunja Damjanovic, Ester Li, Alicia Savage) Available on multi-packs.
... View More...but it isn't. Its actually a fairly serious attempt at filmmaking. This 'movie' was passed on to me by a friend who has a friend who is an aspiring actor and was one of the leads. Hopefully, he takes some classes and never mentions to anyone that he appeared in this film. YIKES. I am also considering de-friending said friend for passing this on to me.Silent Sam is a sad, desperate, pathetic attempt to make a film on little money in hopes of some sort of DVD release. Unfortunately, they had a VERY amateur cast (honestly, its hard to concentrate on the 'story' when you spend most of the time cringing and/or feeling sorry for the performers. I have to assume none of them were paid)an inexperienced crew and little or no money for effects. It says the budget for the film is $300,000. I would love to know where that went. Seriously. Somebody tell me.Silent Sam proves that literally anybody can make a movie. But should they be allowed? If you are feeling suicidal, this is not recommended viewing.
... View MoreWhether you like it or not, Silent Sam is certainly an unconventional low budget 'B' movie action film.Sam Ramirez is a very emotionally repressed cop who doesn't talk much. However, he is capable of great bursts of calm unemotional violence which makes him a dangerous man to tangle with.During a routine stakeout, he leaves his partner alone - while he checks on his terminally ill wife. In the interim, his partner tries to makes the bust on her own. It goes bad!Sam arrives just in time to kill everyone in sight and make a promise to his partner; just before she dies in his arms. The guilt this unleashes in Sam only increases his sense of responsibility. Absconding with the drug money form the bust, Ramirez decides to make his wife's last days – happy ones. There is an immense magnetizing sadness to this characters life, which makes you want to keep watching.Production values are low, but the action and story carries you through.
