Sadly Over-hyped

Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

Much can be said about this movie. One gentlemen from England really ripped this movie. I'd like to know if he's served as has Prince William and Prince Harry. If he's served has he served in the SAS Britains version of Special Operations. In this country we have Seal Team Six, Army Rangers, Delta Force, Green Berets or Special Forces, the 82nd Air Borne, and Marine Recon. So when someone criticizes this elements they better have their facts straight. With regards to the specifics of this movie most seal teams are comprised of 12 individuals and are led by a Leutenant not a Master Chief Petty Officer. Each seal team member can usually perform more than one task; that is his own and the one above him and the below him in case one goes down. I'm sure budget constraints prevented a full team from being fielded. Also, why Admiral Timmons was a Vice Admiral (3 stars) and not a full Admiral (4 stars) was a mystery to me. However the movie was very enjoyable. I recommend it for all even though like many war movies the language is rough.

There is nothing about this film that is good. The acting is bad, the dialogue trite and the direction and editing laughable.It tries for pathos and delivers something only the mentally retarded could possibly enjoy.It is supposedly based on a true story. God help us if special services soldiers are so wooden and inefficient.I have only scored this 1 as 0 isn't available. And the ending...........it just goes on and on with spoken words written by an idiot who specialises in cliché.Do not buy or rent.

I am currently working in Afghanistan. I just watched this big steaming pile of a film on AFN. I was in the USAF back in the 80's and even I could see everything that was wrong militarily w/ this Navy film. The film makers couldn't find ANYONE to ask simple military questions? This film had sooo much potential, but fell soooo flat. The above reviews do a good job of listing the flaws in this film. I just hope that the filmmaker reads these reviews and learns from them for all future endeavors. HINT: When you use stock footage of an F-18 bringing in your airstrike, keep using F-18 footage. Do not jump between F-14s, A-10s, and F-22s.

I'm a fan of b-movies and cheesy movies in general..."Surf Nazis Must Die", "Toxic Avenger", etc etc... but this is by far the worst movie i have ever seen. Military or otherwise. Seriously, who green lit this pile of garbage? The other reviews were spot on, so many factual errors, continuity errors...just too many to count. I looked at the IMDb profile and this guy has only written one movie, which is a complete no brainer. so far this review has a better plot and flow that that movie did. The only sad part is he actually probably made at least a dollar off of it. This movie was not made by anyone that was ever in the military or even a fan of military movies. Apparently it's just a guy and his drinking buddies that had a few days to kill. Just a sad representation of the military and cinematography in general.
