Salt Water Tabby Trailers

Tom's day at the beach doesn't start out well. First he gets his swimsuit caught in the door of the beach house, and doesn't realize it until his intended dive in the ocean sends him snapping back and crashing through the door. He runs out and tries again. This time he is so determined to jump in the water that when he does so, he doesn't notice the tide is out and that he is swimming in the sand, which is filled with broken bottles, tin cans and other debris. Later, he tries to win over a beautiful girl on the beach, but, being the boor he is, he annoys her by drinking her soda pop, eating her hot dog and munching loudly as he lays his head in her lap. Suddenly, a tomato flies through the air and lands on his head. So does a banana peel. Tom looks for the culprit and finds him in the girl's picnic basket. Jerry is inside, eating what he wants and tossing out the rest...

How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

Tom's trip to the beach starts badly; he rushes out of his beach hut and gets is bathing costume caught in the door which sends him catapulting backwards, then in his second attempt the water goes out as he dives in leaving him 'swimming' in a variety of garbage! It looks as if things will be better out of the water when he spies Toodles, his favourite female, on the beach. He doesn't get chance to put his moves on her though as scraps of food start getting thrown out of the picnic basket and landing in him; of course it is his nemesis Jerry! Inevitably violence ensues and Tom gets the worst of it; especially when a particularly angry crab gets involved! While this isn't a classic episode it is still pretty funny; featuring plenty of their trademark violence. This things they do to each other are inventive; I particularly liked Jerry's use of a beach umbrella and the effects of Tom swallowing an inflatable beach toy. The crab was a good addition to the regular cast; angry and just as likely to snap at Jerry as Tom... unlike most small creatures who tend to team up with Jerry.

Tom is spending the day at the seaside with his girlfriend and is trying hard to impress her, as usual. But Jerry has stowed away inside the picnic basket and does everything he can to torment him while scoffing the food for himself. You might find this cartoon very, very similar to the more popular Muscle Beach Tom from the 1950s. But this one came first. There are some very funny painful tricks played on Tom, but they do get a little tiresome after a while. But most of them work. Highlights include Tom drinking some very sandy tea and chewing his own broken teeth. How this is physically possible I don't know. But it's funny.

Wow, I love this short. This is about the best Tom and Jerry cartoon you can find, as it is absolutely tops in both quality of animation and laughs. In fact, I think that Tom and Jerry cartoons of the 40s are highly underrated and in many cases are superior to those of Warner Brothers--especially in regard to the quality of the animation.Tom is at the beach trying to woo a cute lady cat. And, to help woo her, he brings along Jerry as his slave. Jerry is throttled again and again by Tom until finally Jerry escapes and decides to get revenge. And in this case revenge includes shoving an angry crab on Tom's tail, nearly drowning Tom and finally making the moves on Tom's girl. The film is nearly non-stop action and fun.

Tom and Jerry are on a beach, and Tom tries to get friendly (in a very surprising way!) with a female cat that is also there. The rest is the usual chases and stuff. This does not have much of a plot, admittedly, but the gags come thick and fast. And what gags they are! You barely get a chance to breathe before the next one happens most of the time!Take a look at it now!
