Although "Ring Around the Rosie" was filmed with normal video cameras, it all the same has the look and feel of those ultra cheap shot on videotape movies that popped up in video stores in the 1980s. Needless to say, the low budget means that we don't get that much in the way of special effects or elaborate set pieces. The only way then the movie could have been saved is with the writing, but even in that area the movie fails miserably. The end credits for the movie list FIVE screenwriters, and it shows. The movie can't make up its mind as to what kind of horror movie it's supposed to be. It wavers between being a haunted house movie, a psychological thriller, and a mad psycho thriller, none of which is particularly interesting or creepy. A lot of that is due to the often incoherent nature of the movie. Things happen with no explanation or subsequent investigation (or action) by the heroine, and the characters (particularly the heroine) are murky and hard to get a handle on. How this extremely badly planned and executed project got a star like Tom Sizemore to appear in it, I cannot say. Maybe it was a favor for a friend, but I would bet that friendship was severely tested when Sizemore saw the finished results.

This is THE horror / thriller movie solely intended for the female fans of Sex and the City. Wimpy city girlie that seems to be completely useless in the real world visits the village house which has to be cleaned up for the sale. For reasons completely unknown she decides to do the job herself, maybe because the house is basically already pretty clean. (All the actors seem to be incredibly clean as in the Twilight saga - artificial, lifeless.) She is complete mental wreck that seems to collapse when she sees a mouse or something other horrible happens (like draft closes or opens the window). Even when she is frightened by her own shadow yet she insists that her boyfriend should leave her alone. (She has another, complete different mental issues with him, which are known as a "complicated relationship".) Then the horrible things start to happen. She rides a horse. The takes a bath. The warden cuts off head of the chicken in order to prepare a meal. There is even a really horrifying scene when her sister starts to bleed from her nose. What a shocker! And of course she has dreams and hallucinations, mostly messy and pretty weak. She should take her Xaxax or Prosac and find some nice psychic ward. She needs therapy, seriously. I have seen real people suffering by schizophrenia that seemed to be more normal that she is. Her boyfriend should evacuate this "relationship" at once. He is way too nice to waste his life with such pathetic waste of skin.As for the movie, it is real suffering for anyone who does not live in glamor / completely artificial city world. It is incredibly boring and lifeless.

That was a terrible, terrible movie. Absolutely dreadful. Isn't even worth my time discussing it. Don't watch it, heed the signs and don't waste an hour and half of your precious time like I did. Why was Karen like that? She's a complete moron. Again, awful. No character description. The information on the movie was that she went through some long suppressed horrible memory. What was it? The movie never even hinted at what it was! It went from one idea to another, absolutely ridiculously stupid. Nothing was explained. Nothing! I am so annoyed at the writers for wasting time and money turning out such a piece of rubbish. Thanks for nothing! And what was that little 5 seconds of film just before the credits rolled? What the hell was that? What was it supposed to be? IT WAS NOTHING! JUST SOMETHING TO BULK OUT THE TIME! Didn't explain anything at all relevant to the movie. The writers are complete half-wits! To Whoever Directed "Fear Itself:Dark Memories" or "Ring Around The Rosie": I COULD DIRECT BETTER THAN YOU! I mean come one! It's common sense that when filming a movie, 30 seconds of film is a lot of time to be looking at the one frame, like, oh, I don't know, 30 seconds of Karen waking up and just sitting in her bed. I'm 14 years old and I know this! To sum it all up: Stupid movie, A waste of time, money and resources, and not worthy to be a movie from this time.

Where do you start with such a steaming pile of waste masquerading as a film? The scenario is as follows, some gal's grandmother dies and leaves here the family home. Tells her to "clean it up and sell it".Through a series of plodding hallucinations and misadventures the audience is slowly lulled into a boredom-induced coma. By the end, you really don't care what happens. In fact, I wanted the protagonist to be murdered 20 minutes into the film. She is truly that annoying. So, I'm watching this thing, praying for death (hers or mine)and NOTHING HAPPENS. There's a shot of here screaming and then a shot of a badly painted door, she opens the door to reveal... clothing.5 minutes later; there's a shot of her screaming and then a shot of a badly painted door, she opens the door to reveal... clothing...Shot of her screaming, a shot of a badly painted door, open the door, clothing.I'd have rather spent the hour and a half I suffered through this snore-fest in a dentists chair. At least I'd have gotten some Novocaine. At the end of the misery, there is a completely underwhelming "reveal" that means nothing in the context (or out of the context) of the film. This travesty had five (5) writers credited at the end. It took five separate people to screw this thing up as badly as they did.Based on the no-name talent, it looks like they spent all their money on Tom Sizemore and they wasted it there. One good actor cannot save a huge floating turd such as this. Tom, while capable and talented was completely unbelievable in this role. He was not creepy, scary, disturbing or even mildly annoying. in What's really disturbing is that someone, somewhere thought this was a great idea and dumped huge amounts of money into it. What's wrong with these people? To sum up: Don't see it, don't even look at the DVD box. Just pass it by.
