SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

... View MoreGreat example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
... View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
... View MoreApparently this short film has a budget of £500.00 which leads me to presume a lot of people including the cast which consists of Kate Mara, Jason Flemyng and Aneurin Barnard would had given their services for free. There is no dialogue in this short, the film lasts less than three minutes and consists of Flemyng dealing a deck of cards in a café.We then cut to a medieval scene shot in a castle in Wales as Flemyng plays a chivalrous knight who rides to fight a presumed blackguard warrior played by Barnard for the love of the Queen played by Kate Mara. After a short sword fight, Fleming rides off with the Queen and we cut back to the café and see that Flemyng is playing cards with Barnard and the last card dealt is the Queen of Hearts. Its a short which is an exercise of economy of storytelling and striking use of lighting and well crafted use of music. Obviously Chris Foggin (Director) and Tasha Black (Cinematographer) have extensive credits as assistant directors camera assistants and this is a showcase of what else they can do as well as a labour of love.
