It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

Finally it's a delight to see this. SOUTHERN blacks, not Northern, Western or Midwest blacks, who don't say the word, pretty much like white people One reason I loved the movie is it's an incredible story. Also it's a beautiful touching tale of forgiveness and second chances. Watch this movie, you won't regret it. Touching human drama stories. Sam Foster is up there with greats like Spike Lee and Martin Scorsese and Brian DePalma. This movie not bad at all. The music is grand de force. Beautiful babes singing our favorite Southern songs. You'll love this movie a lot. Beautiful sights and sounds and well, and New York is shown too

If you are looking for something to face palm several times with and laugh hysterically at then this is your movie. The acting is impalpable, the set is even worse, and the plot line is just a total clichéd bomb. Even the singing is less than mediocre with the exception of Tammy Townsend. I think the best part and probably only good part in the movie is the very end when the main character goes back to where she belongs. I thought they could have done a lot more with this movie and I know a lot of African American B-movies are laughable and light movies but this was a low budget version of the Tyler Perry movies. Matter of fact it was several Tyler Perry movies mixed into one. Do not and I repeat do not waste your money on buying this but maybe consider just waiting to watch it on BET whenever it comes on and even that's asking a lot of this movie.

I don't know why this got such a low rating... It was good for what it was. The acting was pretty decent and the songs were a plus. Although the plot line was definitely predictable (for me, that is) it was still interesting to watch. There was a good chunk of the movie where I was mad though - I really get into movies, so maybe I was just analyzing it too much. But, as stated, for what it was, I think it was worth taking the time out to watch it. I think this movie teaches a good life lesson also.People apparently knew everyone up in this movie, I only knew the father and the main girl's friend (Smart Guy, Half & Half) but I thought they all did a decent job & after finding out they're all apparently singers. So yeah, go watch the movie. Everyone's opinion is different, but you might enjoy it. It's not an award-winning movie but it definitely held my interest.

Who would have thought that Letoya Luckett could act? She has proved that she is the best actress from Destiny's Child. And who would have thought that Tammy Townsend could sing? And who would have thought that Tank could sing? Clifton Powell did a great job as the hateful director for the stage show. Angie was one of the most stupid movie characters that I have ever seen! She behaved as a strong woman during parts of the movie, but continued to be used and abused during other parts of the movie. It was good to see fly Essence Atkins and Raeven Kelly in this movie. This movie had serious messages. Look at the deleted scenes to see Dawn Lewis' role in the movie.
