A Masterpiece!
... View MoreThis movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
... View MoreA terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
... View MoreActress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
... View MoreThis was, without a doubt, my favorite movie when I was a little kid. I haven't been able to get a hold of the other three yet but my family and I used to watch these all the time and seeing it today makes me long for those days of my childhood. I still get the same feeling I did as a kid and I would recommend this film to any family! The child actors in this are awesome, they really bring the characters to life. The story is great and I'm sure you'll like it too if you've enjoyed the books. I thought that it was shot pretty well too and that the dubbing was done well. I've enjoyed everything about this film for years and will for years to come!
... View MoreThis is my second best Inger-Pippi film, that is, of the original films (with the original stars). It's a great movie and has the flow of a dream and the freedom of a cartoon, that is, almost anything can happen... at least it feels that way. The two side characters, Tommy and Annika, are very important, as in, we go through the adventures in their eyes. It's not just about Pippi, it's about Pippi, Tommy and Annika. Not that the entire film is in Tommy and Annika's perspective, but the film begins with their narration, and we learn about the "spooky" house and then we are introduced to Pippi, who lives in this house alone. It's great seeing different ways that Pippi cleans her house; these scenes steal the movie. Also is fun to see Pippi interact with her two pets, Little Old man, the horse, and her cool little monkey. This is the introduction movie to the four original films (all taken from the television series with the same actors). This is my second favorite of the four, my first being "Pippi On the Run". The dubbed voices get annoying, but that's okay... it's still a classic.
... View MoreWhen I was a kid, i used to play a lot with my friends and my sister. And i always was Pippi. I know all books about her and all movies. Actually i used to have red hair and many years I did act like i had been her. She was my idol for many many years.Pippi is not very known in another countries, but in Sweden and in Finland she's one of the most known characters. In Finnish she's Peppi Pitkätossu. And every single kid knows her. We just love her, all the books, all the stories, all the movies, all the TV-shows and cartoons. She's number 1 in Sweden and also in Finland. If you ever have a change to watch Pippi, do it! Otherwise you're going miss a lot!
... View MoreNo more likable character than a little red-headed girl who lives alone in a huge old house with her tons of pirate booty. Pippi and her friends Tommy and Anaka get swept away. Their usual activities plundering the local candy shop and in general being small town terrors fly out the door as Pippi gets a message in a bottle and must scramble to find action and adventure on the high seas fighting bad pirates. Pippi's supernatural abilities (high strength, and magic engineering skills) certainly place it in the "fantasy" genre, especially for young children.Certainly a very good "pirate" movie, and one which is okay for children. Perhaps adults place it in the comedy genre but I personally think it is one of the best pirate movies available. Also see Treasure Island and Sinbad movies if you like this. This trilogy of movies needs to be converted to DVD.
