Disappointment for a huge fan!

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

This is why I don't watch mainstream Tamil films anymore. You know there's a concept that Kollywood never exploited. So that mean basically they have all the options in the world to make it a right product. Yet still they fail. This is a big example. It was too Indianised. I mean too much masala which a zombie film has never seen before.The trivias makes the film very interesting to watch, but it was not that good film. The only best thing had happened was the runtime. It was shorter, and then the storyline was very simple, which is okay, but not impressive enough. There are lots of errors, like if you turn your focus other than where and whom the camera aiming, like behind, sides of the screens to have a look at what's going on, you will be disappointed. Because those zombies performances were worst. They just raise their hands and growls, but not making the progress to attack. That shows the inexperience of handling such theme, particularly technical aspect.I've watched it just after watching Japan's 'I Am a Hero' and Korea's 'Train to Busan'. So India is lagging way far behind to give an international quality zombie film. They target only locals, which is really bad when recently the Indian films are considered a fastest growing film industry in the world.If you know the language, then you can have some fun with its comedies. Then the ending was terrible, which is not even match to B movies of Eurpean or Holywood. Definitely a skippbale film or watch it on your own risk. Now I don't know what to expect from 'Tik Tik Tik' from the same cast and crew. 2/10

Miruthan my perspective: First of all this movie is not World war Z's clone! Next ,This movie does have some Zombie rules/logic that Western movies do possess!Story is simple, just go n watch it in theaters 😜 But the movie ends with a hint at Miruthan sequel ...So What worked?-Larger than life effort in making this movie suitable for K-Town audience -Brilliant works in CGI to emulate Zombies -Laudable performance from Protagonist ,Jayam Ravi -D.Imman matches the pulse of audiences, by working on the BGM,Songs to match the theme of this flick -Crisp Running Time of 1hr 48mins make it one of the shortest film in recent times (The running time only copied from Hollywood-this line dedicated sarcastic World movie lovers)-Comic one liners does evoke laughter in serious scenes makes it Both Plus n minus!!So What didn't go in this movie's way ?Logics are impossible to believe(mostly all Zombie movies are included for this con)-There are several Stereotypes like Pregnant lady waiting in Auto when a minister comes in that way and someone helps her to when he arrives to get sacked, more like that present!(Tamil movie's common stereotypes)-Lakshmi menon(The lady of interest of Protagonist) does the job most of the time, but she looks unrealistic all the time. Final words: Apart from several cons , it's still a high five ZOMBIE TAMIL action movie!

When the trailer of the Jayam Ravi zombie thriller, Miruthan was first released, I was a little skeptical if they could deliver a decent movie. So imagine my surprise when I happened to enjoy Miruthan thoroughly.The first half is perhaps the best and most happening part of the entire movie. Miruthan is a nonstop visual and audio assault from start to finish. There is barely a breather of 15 minutes where the chemistry between Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon is tried to establish. The way the spread of the outbreak is shown is fantastic. In a snap of a finger, the hero's world unravels as his sister goes missing and his neighbours start attacking him. Zombies look pretty awesome as they lunge and sprint about. Jayam Ravi does not have much scope for showing his acting skills but is still badass as he shoots, stabs and road kills hundreds of zombies. But the true scope emerges near the end, where he displays his emotional and animalistic side which will give leave you awestruck. Director Sakhti Soundarajan adds a little Trantino touch as he gives a romantic ballad score in the climax when the protagonist is involved in a brutal fight with the zombies. The comic timing is perfect and will elicit a few laughs out of you. Best part is, be it the wit or the romance, it all blends seamlessly with the entire plot. The second half is okay, but when compared to such a riveting first half, it is kind of a letdown. The story is established around the 50 minute mark, after which there really isn't much more to the tale. But then, that sums up every zombie flick ever. Lakshmi Menon is just like a doll with no real role except playing the damsel in distress from start to finish.In the end, it is a very good maiden effort in Kollywood and even in India to make a zombie film. So, please don't compare with Hollywood and go with an open mind and you will enjoy the experience.
