The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This movie is in no way bad, it is just very basic in terms of plot and character development and instead acts as a showcase for various side characters in the DC universe. It works well enough in this regard, but it could have done without the presence of Batman, who does little to enhance the film bar stating the obvious. These are they type of characters that DC should be looking into and you wonder what would have happened had DC/Warner Bros been in the same position as Marvel where they didn't have their flagship characters to rely on. Instead DC don't seem to be able to abandon the big three, who all make appearances in this, which may hamstring them creatively. Batman is great, but do we really need him in every DC movie?!Overall this is a generally watchable film, it's pretty entertaining and the characters are cool. A sequel could be a lot better and things could go a lot more in depth into the world of the supernatural in DC. It is certainly accessible to the casual fan, but not all ages.

I am not going to spend too much time on this big old mess, either by boring the readers of my review or inciting a riot--take your pick."JLD" is an ANIMATED story about people world-wide experiencing visions of ghoulies, and goblins, and long-legged beasties, and things that go bump in the night. So, natch, the Justice League decides to investigate.I did learn a few things I did not know about these "marvels": (a) demons get together and play cards. Enchanting. (b) there is actually such a thing as a "killer turd," and (c) Batman grunts quite a bit.I tried to watch this three times before giving up. Actually, it put me to sleep every time. The animation is awful. Each male character looks exactly the same, with the only difference being a different outfit. Same thing goes for the females. There is NO life to any of the characters. In fact, the cast of characters were as lifeless as they were drawn. This "thing" was rated "R"--why? I'll never know. Uninteresting (except for the rampage of the killer turd).

Since this new 52 reboot in DC animation where all the films are based in the new 52 continuity they haven't been as good as they were previously. But as they have continued they really feel like there getting close. From the very start of the film it has this dark and deadly tone to it as we get some really gruesome scenes. Law biding citizens are doing heinous acts and things don't look pleasant. Sadly the film's first halve doesn't live up to the rest. That right the scene that was released on the PlayStation network is probably the darkest scene in the entire film. Everything else is just par for the course and feels like every other Hollywood blockbuster with some over powered villain and some light in the sky. The main antagonist really doesn't do the film any favors. He feels like he was plucked right from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is typical and kinda unneeded and is something we have seen before. There is just nothing new there. The film does succeed tho with the way the characters are developed. Zatana, Constatine, Swamp Thing and Etrigan the Demon are given quite a lot of interesting development and we come to care about all of them. Deadman does also have a good role to play even if his voice doesn't really work for the character. The voice work here overall isn't very strong. Aside from Matt Ryan returning as Constantine there are no notable performances which is kinda sucky. The casting director, Wes Gleason, needs some work. I wish they could get back Merdith Layne who worked on Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox and has Emmy Award on her mantle. I know I sound like I am ragging on the film, but I did like it. I loved Constantine and Zatanna's relationship here. And I actually did feel all the other members got just enough needed screen time. I don't feel Batman was needed, but I didn't mind him when it was in the context of the film.I actually loved the way all the Justice League members were used.So I would consider this a pretty good film. Maybe not worth the extra money on DVD or Blu Ray, but still a pretty nice film if your a fan of DC animation.

I want to like this movie because I like many of DC's animated movies and the concept behind Justice League Dark is uber-cool: the magical DC heroes (and Batman) band together to fight a supernatural force. Unfortunately this 2017 version of Justice League Dark is subpar. For such a cool concept so much of this JLD iteration is lame. The "league" fights a guy called Felix Faust, who's got a Fu Manchu 'stache but talks like he works at Home Depot. That wouldn't be so bad if the central antagonist was not so boring. And it's such a shame. Justice League Dark should be taking on Cthulu/Lovecraftian/Hell horrors, man-- not just another smirking villain who, instead of firing 'energy' bolts fires 'magic' bolts instead. (But these ones are purple, oh, okay.)Everything about JLD is wooden, which is tragic, given it's a cartoon (whoops, sorry: animated film.) Really: animation is one of the most fluid and adaptive forms of media we have: so why does everyone in JLD stand so stiffly and frown at one another? Frown and talk in grumbly-grumble voices? Answer: it's a pale attempt to convey grit and intensity. Maybe I'd buy it if I was one of those fedora-wearing neckbeards, but I moved out of my parent's basement long ago.Constantine is a great character, and so is Deadman: but I can't stand the voices for either or. Deadman's job is to play comic relief (he annoys us with a phony Brooklyn accent) and Constantine sounds like some Yank doing a poor impression of a Game of Thrones character. God. What's stings most about JLD is the missed opportunity for something dark and freaky-deaky. There's an episode of Superman: The Animated Series called "The Hand of Fate," where Supes and Dr. Fate have to team up to fight a villain called Karkull. Look up this episode; specifically, check out Karkull's groovy, Cthulu-inspired design. I saw this episode when I was a kid and I still remember Karkull's tentacle teeth and his giant eyeball minions.JLD could have been something twisted and weird, but this 2017 iteration plays it too safe and by the numbers for my liking. Maybe we'll have something wonderfully horrifying in a sequel, or even a live action adaptation. Fun fact, both George Miller and Guillermo del Toro were attached to do adaptations of this concept. How cool would those movies have been? Hey: now that Hellboy 3 is confirmed as not going to be made, I'd love, love, love to see HB appear in a live action version of JLD, ohyesplease.Anyway: this 2017 version of Justice League Dark is not great: but as it stands, it's better than 2016's Suicide Squad: just for the fact that it doesn't constantly show Marge Robbie's pale clown backside."Don't let her sit down on anything before I cover it with plastic, dude!"
