I am utterly baffled by the good response that this movie has been getting. I've never read a comic book in my life, so I can't judge the "accuracy" of this movie's adaptation, but if this is what the comic book is like, then I don't want to read it.This movie has no substance behind it. The characters are either sex objects, action heroes, or both. There are no stakes and I had zero investment into the characters or the story. A character can get beat up, shot several times, run over by a truck, and drowned and still end up fine if they are a main character. The story is not very interesting at all, and it goes in so many random directions that I have trouble remembering what happened and why, although I have a feeling that all this was done on purpose, so as to not get in the way of the stylized action. Speaking of which...The black and white with small sprinkles of color gets old fast and it reminds me why almost all movies are in color. There is nothing visually interesting done with the small amount of color that is in the movie. The action is subpar at best, and a lot of it is just straight up bad. The voiceover is seriously annoying as well. I understand that noir films are supposed to have voice over and it's an artistic choice, but it serves no real purpose in this movie. Sure, sometimes it opens a window into the protagonist's mind, but most of the time it's just describing what we already know.I just can't understand the praise this movie is getting.

This is what we could call an accurate adaptation of a comic book into a movie. This is what it could be the best adaptation of something like this. It has many of the images similar to the comic ones and that's something very good.It tells the story of three different men who have to deal with the criminal problems that are around Basin City. This might not be very well summed up, but it's better to watch it by yourself. The three main stories are interconnected with each other in a very good way, with some characters appearing in other stories, or with the mention of certain places or actions. Although there were some parts I felt like I was missing something in the story, but I could not tell what exactly was missing.One of the best parts of the movie is the whole cast, and despite being a lot of great actors, they all have time to shine, even if it's a few minutes. From Bruce Willis, Michael Rourke, Clive Owen, Benicio del Toro or Elijah Wood, to Jessica Alba, Carla Gugino, Rosario Dawson, Alexis Bledel or Jaime King. I specially loved the characters of Michael Rourke, Rosario Dawson and Bruce Willis.The other great thing are the visuals. I think I have never seen something like this before. It is like a direct copy of the comic pictures and the visuals used are amazing, all in black and white except in some cases where you can see the red of the blood or the yellow and golden of the hair. If I have something bad to say about it it's that the music at parts felt like out of place in comparison with the images, for example when Hartigan (Bruce Willis) is entering in the Roark Farm, that part was a bit odd fitting the images, but there were also other parts where it fitted very well. A very recommendable movie for all the comic book or graphic novel fans and also for all of those who enjoy a lot R rated movies. Also I have to say that Quentin Tarantino was an invited director in one of the stories so if you're a fan of him, you will also enjoy this a lot."Turn the right corner in Sin City, and you can find anything..."

This is a wonderful movie. It got thriller, drama, multiple stories and multiple ending. This is also an action movie with more of a artistic flavor . If you haven't watched it yet . I wonder why ?Alert- This movie contains curse language, nudity and killing people with brutality.This movie worth every second. Wow !

Much of the film is based on the first, third and fourth books in Miller's original comic series. The Hard Goodbye is about a man who embarks on a brutal rampage in search of his one-time sweetheart's killer, killing anyone, even the police, that gets in his way of finding and killing her murderer. The Big Fat Kill focuses on an everyman getting caught in a street war between a group of prostitutes and a group of mercenaries, the police and the mob. That Yellow Bastard follows an aging police officer who protects a young woman from a grotesquely disfigured serial killer. The intro and outro of the film are based on the short story "The Customer is Always Right", which is collected in Booze, Broads & Bullets, the sixth book in the comic series.
