I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

'Jurassic City' takes 3 young ladies into prison after a night of too much drinking and unsuccessful driving. Next door to them, a rapist and murderer is locked up. Just when they think it couldn't get any worse, a bunch of dinosaurs breaks into the prison. A politician unleashed them onto the city, believing that if he saves the city, he will be elected president. This cunning plan would only work if nobody ever asked where the dinosaurs came from in the first place. Anyway, the bad murderer guy takes a gun from the warden and start shooting the dinosaurs. A bunch of special forces tried the same, with more fire power but without any success. The 3 above mentioned young ladies now have to figure out how to get past the dinosaurs and the heavily armed madman...It's a rather crazy low budget action flick, but it was entertaining, I give them that. Compared to director Sean Cain's previous effort 'Jurassic Attack', the animation doesn't look as awful as last time, but that's probably owed to the darkness of the prison, mercifully hiding the technical weaknesses which were more obvious in the sunshine outside.

Everyone's been too harsh on this poor movie. It's a B movie, they deserve a different kind of respect. Do people know how hard it is to make a movie? If I made this I'd be proud. The actors acted their wee socks off and a couple of them were really good. They even had that mad punk from Mad Max II & Weird Science. He's a legend. Looking a bit different but his voice gives him away, straight away. The cinematography was good. Whoever did the special effects did their best with whatever Jurassic software they had. The story was... well, it's a B movie. I was glued to my seat throughout, (went for a pee once). Watched it with my grandsons & they enjoyed it immensely. The best bit is there wasn't too much gore or bloody splatterings to make it kid unfriendly. They could have made this a very bloody movie just for the sake of it but carefully held back. Professionals in the making. This is a good popcorn B flick. This was 10X better than Sharknado 1 and 2. This is on a par with The Blob (1958). No, actually it's better. I will definitely watch Jurassic City 2, where hopefully we get filled in on why there were dinosaurs loose in the city.Recommended viewing. 7/10 B rating.

I really wanted to enjoy this movie. I am a big Monique Parent fan ( she played Scarlet ), but she only had a bit part, and not put to good use ( IMHO ). A couple of other faces I recognized but could not put names to until I checked on IMDb.I had put in a pre-order to get the DVD, and waited for its final release and arrival in my mail box.A HINT at a little girl on girl action, but, nada. Girls in bikinis but no T&A ( which MIGHT have made this bearable ). Most of the "action" ( and I use the term loosely ) is in a jail ( which is where the producers belong ). No spoiler alert needed; I fell asleep after an hour. I'll try again tonight. I'd recommend saving your money and wait to see it on SciFi or other cable channel.

Typical end of the world movie that uses dinosaurs, mainly the raptors. Where as in Jurassic Park they were scary and menacing with top notch effects, here they are cartoonish to the point you can't take them seriously. Hence, this leads to a lack of any suspense thru out the movie. When you witness the first kill by a raptor within the first 5 minutes of the movie, you see how cartoonish the whole movie will be. Even the blood is cartoonish. I felt like I was watching something like Song of the South which mixed in live actors with animated characters/background. This was the opposite, live actors/background with animated raptors. I know this is a low budget, but if you can't get it right, then don't do it.Most of the actors fulfill various stereotypes and the performances are not worth writing about. Though it was nice seeing veteran actors Ray Wise and Vernon Wells try to make something out of this comedy.
