Great Film overall
... View MoreCharming and brutal
... View MoreWhat a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
... View MoreA movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
... View MoreInterview with a Hit-man is a low budget British thriller with more than a nod to the Hit-man video game and subsequent film as well as THE BOURNE SUPREMACY. It stars straight-to-DVD star Luke Goss playing a former Romanian child who grew up to become a star hit-man and who arrives in UK ready to carry out his latest assignment. Things become complicated when he falls for his target.I'm not sure why there are a wealth of positive reviews on this site because this is a very ordinary and uninteresting story. It's so low budget that there's hardly any action and those action bits that do occur are unconvincing. The story is full of dialogue which is softly-spoken and attempts to build character but it comes across as dull and just as uninteresting as the forays into action. Everything seems long-winded and unfocused and a reliably charming Goss can do nothing to carry the picture. It seems they gave up on this one before they even started.
... View MoreGrim urban drama about the catastrophic breakdown of Romanian society in the post-Ceaușescu era. Contains footage of the last remaining functional infrastructure in Bucharest (two street lights and a stop sign). The Romanians stomp around moodily, jabbering to each other in heavily accented English, arranging murders for hire, looking for small girls to rape, and occasionally grunting a word or two in their primitive dialect. For his part the protagonist spends most of his time killing Romanians, so if you're a Ceaușescu fan you'll find this movie deeply satisfying. I definitely got more than I bargained for.I rate Interview with a Hit-man at 26.64 on the Haglee Scale, which works out as a stunning 8/10 on IMDb.
... View MoreWhat makes this movie so interesting is the fact that it shows the side of Victor that I never expected to be shown in the film. The loving side which even some criminals possess. Although I am sure most of us would agree that most paid killers in the real world don't waste time desiring a wife and a family of their own. Viktor is different from other killers in that he doesn't seem to know how to love at first but then he learns how to when he discovers he has feelings of his own. However in the movie Interview with a Hit-man he will soon learn that falling in love is the biggest mistake he has ever made. Love has made him weak again and it is only a matter of time before he realizes what this trap will lead to.
... View MoreThe movie is excellent as a functioning thriller that kept me reeled in like a fish on a hook until the end. I simply couldn't stop watching as one seemingly disconnected part of the plot seemed to automatically tie in with the next. Then I realized that I wanted to know more, and find out how the story would eventually end. The only thing I didn't like was that I wish that we would find out more about who the Sergey Crime family was and how why they betrayed Viktor as he was an invaluable asset to them. However for the most part the movie Interview with a Hit-man was a success. It describes a hit-man's life in an objective and clever way that does justice to all the characters and shows that a murderer will never change.
