Absolutely the worst movie.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Largely a cast of young people plus dogs. very entertaining, if you want to be cheered up and laugh or cry and have some fun with a film, this one would suit you well. Great entertainment. This year I think I have seen either 2 or 3 films only that I would class as entertaining, this is one of those. Wonderful to watch

I have trouble being too hard on this film. What the concept promises is a hotel with a bunch of cute pups running around it, and it really delivers on that promise. You don't just get a hotel full of dogs, you also get a whole bunch of fancy contraptions that feed and entertain the dogs and take care of all of their needs. What surrounds this central idea is not too challenging ... orphans, evil step parents, a non-threatening teenage love interest for the girl orphan, friends who just come out of nowhere and volunteer to help, evil dog catchers and Don Cheadle. I won't for one second suggest that this is a conventionally good movie, but I kind of enjoyed it in a "don't think very hard about any of it" kind of way.

I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was very sweet; I had some laughs, and cried when I saw Andi and Bruce pulled apart. I thought of how great it was that they were willing to stay with the dogs even when they, Andi and Bruce, were offered a home. Since the beginning of the movie, Andi and Bruce really loved Friday, and they then grew to love the dogs they rescued and brought to the hotel. Everything those kids, and their friends, had done for those dogs, orphaned dogs, was really nice. They had all formed one big, happy family. Now, I absolutely loved the contraptions. They were really creative. Some that I really enjoyed were: the treadmills for the dogs, the peeing fire hydrant and pooping toilets, and the food serving at the lunch/dinner table.

This was a truly funny movie that was obviously aiming for the younger set, but just about everyone will find much to like. Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, and Don Cheadle were perfectly cast as the kids and social worker assigned to their case. The kids are orphans living with a foster family, and they continuously run scams (which is running them out of options and pushing Cheadle to the limit) and can't let their families know that they have a dog. They go to great lengths to hide it, which often get hilarious. After finding a bunch of strays and an abandoned hotel, well, you can probably guess what happens next. Some teenaged employees at a local pet store (and Cheadle too) get involved and wind up helping. This was a funny and fun movie that will appeal to just about everyone, and I recommend it. You will not regret watching this.*** out of ****
