Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Much like me, there is no reason for this to exist.

(Credit IMDb) Kevin McCallister's parents have split up. Now living with his mom, he decides to spend Christmas with his dad at the mansion of his father's rich girlfriend, Natalie. Meanwhile robber Marv Merchants, one of the villains from the first two movies, partners up with a new criminal named Vera to hit Natalie's mansion. This is gonna be a quick review! I saw this over a year ago, and I've forgotten most of it. The only thing I really remember about it was how excruciatingly atrocious it was. I can't believe the audacity they had to try to make this a continuation of the first two movies? Home Alone is one of my favorite movies of all time! This movie tried to defecate all over the first one. Why on earth did they need to bring the character of Kevin back? He's iconic! Mike Weinberg tries, but he's no match for Culkin. Even Marv is brought back with a different actor. There are no laughs, no entertainment, just headaches. If you have a heart, please don't make your kids watch this. DUD

Home Alone 4 is a TV movie that brings back the characters of the original film particularly Kevin McCallister but played by a different cast.A Macaulay Culkin sound-alike Mike Weinberg takes on the role of Kevin together with French Stewart,Missi Pyle,Jason Beghe,Erick Avari,Barbara Babcock,Joanna Going and Clare Carey. The plot of the film revolves around Kevin trying to defend his future stepmother's computerized house against one of his old nemesis,Marv and his wife Vera.Combining his technological know-how and brilliance,Kevin was able to save a royal heir from a group of kidnappers that includes Marv.In addition to that,he was also able to bring back his parents back together. This is the third film of the Home Alone series. It is rather unfortunate that at this point of the franchise,I feel that the writers are just repeating the same thematic formulas that worked in the original film.Apart from the recycled gags,it no longer has the charm of the original. At this point,I think that the viewers are probably tired and would like to see something new if they ever would like to make another sequel. If not, then it is time to end the franchise with respect to the first film.

I was never a huge fan of the first "Home Alone" movie, and for that matter the second and third entries. But each of them was like a Broadway play compared to this fourth entry. This entry is a bad high school play in comparison. It goes wrong in just about every way you can think of. Being made for television, it looks really cheap and undernourished, save for the part of the movie involving a cascade of water (they must have blown most of the budget on that scene alone.) The people that are cast in the roles of Kevin and his family (as well as Marv) have none of the spark of the original actors. But the worst thing about the movie is how dull it is. There is very little of the character of Kevin taking charge, acting smart, and inflicting mischief. It's mostly boring talk. I think even kids will find this sequel a shabby excuse, and I can only imagine what their smarter and experienced parents will think of it.
